Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan has broken his silence amid growing concerns for his troubled son.

The Australian-born retired actor, 85, dismissed widespread fears for 26-year-old Chance Hogan, his only child by his ex-wife and former co-star Linda Kozlowski, while running errands in Los Angeles

Chance, an aspiring musician who has been based in Venice Beach with his famous father, has made headlines in recent weeks over his erratic behavior that has also been captured in troubling photos.

But when DailyMail.com caught up with Hogan earlier this month, his demeanor was far from that of a concerned father.

Asked if he was worried about Chance, Paul, instead shook his head casually and smiled before replying: 'Nah.'

He continued: 'No. It's a lot of made up stuff and a lot of it he [referring to Chance] does on purpose.'

Hogan poured cold water on the claims while making a quick trip to a local store and an ATM, his first public outing in nine months.

The reclusive star wore a leather jacket, black pants, and sneakers.

He appeared friendly and happy to chat despite the rumors and concerns circulating about his son.

The movie legend, who's originally from Sydney, left his home country behind following the success of the 1986 action-comedy film, to settle with his second wife, Kozlowski in Los Angeles in the 90s.

When asked if he would like to return to his Aussie homeland last week, he said: 'Oh yeah. One of these days.'

He then added, referring to his son: 'If he'll come.'

But the Australian-born retired actor, 85, dismissed widespread fears for his son while running errands in Los Angeles

Hogan, who was seen during a trip to a local ATM and convenience store, suggested his son is fine and that a lot of the circulating reports 'are not true'

Chance has been living with his father in LA since his parents' divorce from in 2014 after 24 years of marriage.

Last month troubling new photos emerged of Chance buying beer and shuffling around Venice Beach back alleys, near the home he shares with his father.

But Hogan's latest remarks contradict recent reports that he had been 'worried sick' about his son.

The reports emerged after Daily Mail Australia shared shocking images of Chance looking disheveled in a back alley, taken on November 14.

He appeared to be aimlessly pacing up and down the street before approaching a blacked-out vehicle near his home.

Chance's online behavior has also become more erratic, sparking further concerns.

He recently shared a bizarre video of himself ominously claiming something is about to 'begin' as he bared his inflamed gums to the camera.

Chance is no stranger to scandal – after all, his parents' relationship was one of the biggest tabloid stories of the late 1980s.

Sparks famously flew between Paul and Linda on-set in the Australian Outback, while Hogan - 19 years Kozlowski's senior - was still married to wife Noelene Edwards.

The couple wed in 1990, welcomed Chance eight years later, and divorced in 2014.
