Demos are a great way to give games a try before they commit to a purchase. However, players might feel dissuaded from downloading demos for heavier games, as they tend to take up a lot of storage space. (Crimson Desert requires 150 GB on PC, according to its Steam page.) Even though the player isn't getting the full experience, they still need a wide variety of assets from the game files, which is why the download file ends up being so large.
To avoid this inconvenience, Pearl Abyss has set up a webpage that allows potential buyers to try Crimson Desert via stream on their browser. Players can access the Crimson Desert demo on Twitch, which will take them to a page where they can play up to 20 minutes of the action-RPG for free.
While 20 minutes might not seem that long, players can actually explore quite a bit of the game within the time limit since the demo doesn't begin at the start of the game. This means they don't need to go through a specific tutorial sequence in the Crimson Desert trial. They spawn in the Hernandian Territory and can go anywhere they please from then on. When time runs out, they can just restart the demo and go a different way.
So far, Pearl Abyss has not mentioned how long this demo will be available. Regardless, if players find that they enjoy the game within the next few days, they can purchase Crimson Desert on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, and Xbox Games Store for a 20% discount until Sept. 9.
