Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Creature Commandos episode 3, "Cheers To The Tin Man"
Creature Commandos episode 3 is all about the origins of G.I. Robot. An automated soldier desperate to kill Nazis, G.I. Robot (Sean Gunn) is one of Task Force M's oldest and most interesting members. As such, the ending of Creature Commandos episode 3 is as exciting as it is tragic for the wartime mechanical hero.
As seen in Creature Commandos episodes 1 & 2, Task Force M was given orders to protect the princess of Pokolistan from the Amazonian sorceress Circe. However, The Bride (Indira Varma) and Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao) left in the night to visit the remains of Frankenstein Manor (where the Bride was born). Following a battle with Circe at the manor, the rest of Task Force M was on their way to save their fellow monster recruits. To that end, here's a recap of what happens in Creature Commandos episode 3 and its tragic ending for G.I. Robot.

G.I. Robot's Origins and Death Explained
Created During WWII (And Promptly Discarded)
As seen in Creature Commandos episode 3, G.I. Robot was first created to aid in the war effort during WWII. Joining the ranks of Easy Company led by Sgt. Rock, G.I. Robot was a truly effective Nazi-killing machine, saving the lives of his fellow soldiers who quickly embraced "The Tin Man" as one of the boys. Seeing as how actor Daniel Craig is reportedly in talks to play Sgt. Rock in a live-action DC movie, this flashback with G.I. Robot is quite exciting. However, the end of the war saw G.I.Robot without purpose, as his primary programming was to kill Nazis.
Following a period where the robotic soldier was studied by Doctor William Magnus for his work on the Metal Men, G.I. Robot was forgotten and passed through various collections. As such, he eventually ended up in the hands of a national socialist who took him to a meeting. Relying on his programming, G.I. Robot guns down the entire room of Nazis, resulting in his incarceration where he is imprisoned in Belle Reve to be used by Amanda Waller.
In the present, G.I. Robot is unleashed by Rick Flag (Frank Grillo) upon Circe and the Sons of Themyscira after being told that they're Nazis. Overjoyed by the opportunity to do what he was programmed for, it's incredibly tragic to see G.I. promptly destroyed by Circe after he kills several of her men at the end of Creature Commandos episode 3. As Nina holds G.I.'s head as the light behind his eyes begins to fade, he tells her what a wonderful day it is and "Cheers to the Tin Man", echoing the love he once felt with Easy Company.
What The Creature Commandos Showrunner Has Said About G.I. Robot's Death
Having recently had the chance to interview Creature Commandos' Dean Lorey, the DC showrunner told ScreenRant that viewers might not want to give up on G.I. Robot just yet:
I'm not ready to say goodbye to him either! He's my favorite character. I love G.I. Robot, and I would be brokenhearted if we didn't find a way to see more of G.I. Robot - I wouldn't give up on G.I. Robot.
This is some pretty good news for the many viewers who undoubtedly fell in love with G.I. Robot, especially after watching his heartbreaking origins and fate at the end of Creature Commandos episode 8. With any luck, there may be a way to bring back Task Force M's automated Nazi killer as the animated series continues.
How The Creature Commandos Defeated Circe
A Surprise Attack From Weasel and Doctor Phosphorus
Once the Creature Commandos realized The Bride and Nina were used as distractions, Task Force M immediately headed back to Castle Rostovic to save the princess from Circe. After G.I. Robot kills several of The Sons and makes his heroic sacrifice with Circe blowing him up, the sorceress nearly kills Princess Ilana at the end of Creature Commandos episode 3. However, Weasel comes to the princess' defense just in time, pouncing on Circe, biting and brutally clawing her into submission before Doctor Phosphorus puts one of his burning hands right on her face.

Despite Circe's impressive magical abilities, Task Force M gets the chance to prove their worth as a team of powerful monsters at the end of Creature Commandos episode 3. After all, it'd be pretty hard to react to someone like The Weasel coming at you from out of nowhere before getting brutally burned by an irradiated skeleton man. However, one can imagine that an Amazonian sorceress like Circe isn't fully out for the count considering there are still five more episodes of the new DCU series that have yet to be released.
Why Circe Says Task Force M Has "Doomed The World"
What Does She Know That Task Force M Doesn't?
The final scene of Creature Commandos episode 3 continues the ongoing mystery as to why Circe wants Princess Ilana dead in the first place. After all, the desire to take over a small European country feels trivial when Circe believes herself to be the rightful ruler of Themyscira. As such, Circe proves something bigger is going on when she tells Task Force M that they've just doomed the world, presumably by stopping her from killing the princess.
"It's going to be very exciting to see what happens next following this key cliffhanger at the end of Creature Commandos episode 3..."
Keeping Circe's foreboding accusation in mind, one can infer that there's much more to Princess Ilana than meets the eye. As such, it's going to be very exciting to see what happens next following this key cliffhanger at the end of Creature Commandos episode 3. It certainly stands to reason that things are only going to get crazier from here on out.
