The Sims 4 has released a new base game update, which launched on October 22. The update comes just before the eagerly anticipated release of the game's brand-new expansion pack, Life & Death. The update includes a large variety of new gameplay improvements with special attention to detail in regard to some of the game's Live Mode elements, while also introducing a selection of exciting gameplay features that enhance the base game significantly.

The base game update for The Sims 4 has also introduced a variety of new gameplay elements. With a selection of brand-new and spooky gameplay features, the new update has provided new interactions, including the ability for a Sim to react differently to a Sim's death based on their traits, the ability for a player to choose between a playable or free-roaming ghost upon a Sim's death, and the ability to create child-to-elder Sims in Create-A-Sim. However, one of the new features the update has introduced is, at last, the ability for a player to swap between occults while creating a Sim in Create-A-Sim.

Swapping Occults Has Never Been Easier

Create-A-Sims Gets A Much-Needed New Feature

The Sims 4 Which Occult Sims Packs Are Worth Buying

The Sims 4 has been the core game in The Sims franchise for just over a decade now, and certain elements in its base game were missing. In Create-A-Sim mode, it grew to be a rather frustrating issue to spend a considerable amount of time creating a Sim character with the intention of them being an occult Sim, only to realize that one had not initially selected an occult option. This would lead to a player having to scrap their new Sim and having to start the process all over again upon selecting the occult Sim option.

The Sims FreePlay Sense and Simsibility Update comes with a host of new events, character options, items, and rewards when it releases in October.

However, the brand-new base game in The Sims 4 has finally introduced the solution to this particular problem. At long last, players are now able to create a Sim character from scratch, whose occult they can select and swap at any stage during the Sim creation process in Create-A-Sim. This means that players of The Sims 4 no longer have to worry about losing their progress when it comes to creating Sims if they end up deciding to change occults, or if they realize they simply forgot to select an occult Sim to begin with.

New Create-A-Sim's Feature Is Better Late Than Never

The Base Game Update Comes With Great Improvements

The Sims 4's base game update comes shortly after EA's shock announcement that there is in fact no The Sims 5 in the works, and that the company has chosen to continue with The Sims 4 as the core game in the franchise. It was easy to speculate that the base game would continue to provide the same gaming experience as it has for the last decade, but this new update is a very welcome improvement to The Sims 4. It's clear as day that the developers have been listening to players of The Sims 4 in order to provide a better gameplay experience.

Although The Sims 4 has been the core game in the franchise for the last ten years, the new update now allows a much easier Create-A-Sim experience, which is a welcome change that is better late than never. Now, players are finally able to relax and enjoy unleashing their creativity while creating Sims characters, knowing that if they do forget to select an occult Sim, that the option to do so now without erasing progress is available. This is an exciting new change to The Sims 4 base game that offers a potential insight into the new and improved future of The Sims 4.
