CoreWeave is booking Nvidia GPUs first released in 2020 through 2029 at full pricing, CEO Mike Intrator said in a CNBC interview.
The contracts indicate that demand for AI computing infrastructure remains strong even for older chips that some investors expected to depreciate rapidly as Nvidia introduced newer hardware.
Long-term bookings for earlier-generation GPUs could help CoreWeave maintain utilization and revenue across its existing fleet while it continues investing in new infrastructure.
The comments come as investors assess whether rapid advances in AI chips will shorten the useful life of data-center equipment. CoreWeave’s booking activity suggests customers still value older GPUs for workloads where availability and cost matter alongside peak performance.
