So my brother and his sister stood in," Yvette noted to the outlet in an interview published Dec. 15. "So it was nice to walk down the aisle toward family and with family, even if it's not the family we wish we had in those roles."
The nuptials marked the first time their families came together. And ahead of the moment, recalled thinking, “The melding of these families is what I'm super, super excited about.”

"I cried when I saw myself in the wedding dress, and the wardrobe woman thought I was crying because I looked so beautiful," she said. "First of all, I'm not that kind of chick to cry because I look beautiful … I was crying because I was like, 'This may be the only time I'm in a wedding dress.' And to realize that all these years later I was wrong and that I get to have my bridal moment as well, and my happy ending as well, it's amazing."
As for the guests list, Leslie Odom Jr. serenaded the couple while they took the dance floor, and there was also a surprise performance by Deniece Williams.
Yvette and Anthony—who were friends in their 20s—began their relationship after reconnecting in 2021 and got engaged in 2023.

Finding love later in life has been inspirational for the Drake and Josh alum, who wanted to reflect the beauty of the moment in her ceremony.
"I'm not someone who really likes a lot of attention, and I realized there's a way that I could have a wedding where I made it more about other people, in the sense that because I am of a certain age and I never thought it would happen for me, my wedding can be an inspirational moment," Yvette explained. "I feel like it's important to make sure that the way God has blessed me, that I remind people that He is still in the blessing business, and can totally bless them as well."
"Instead of 'everybody come and look at me,' it's like, 'everybody come and look at love,” she continued. “Everybody come and look at what God can do. Everybody come and look at the fact that miracles can still happen.'"
