Coleen Rooney is praised for being 'real and raw' while Wayne is told off for mumbling as fans tune in for their new £10M docuseries

Coleen and Wayne Rooney have been praised for their docuseries, The Real Rooneys. 

The couple invited the cameras into their home for a year to document the highs and lows of their marriage, family life and work endeavours, with Coleen promising to show a side of themselves the public have never seen.

A synopsis for The Real Rooneys reads: 'With unprecedented access, we follow the family through the highs and lows of married life, raising four lively boys, and supporting eldest son Kai as he pursues his own footballing dream.

'Along the way come surprising personal revelations, career-defining moments, lavish celebrations and unforgettable family holidays...

'From their Cheshire home to the beaches of Barbados and the snowy Alps, this is Britain's most famous and private family as never seen before: warm, funny and authentic.'

Disney+ and Amazon had a bidding war for months to have the rights for the show, with Disney+ winning the race with the massive £10million fee.

And it seems the payout paid off, with viewers sharing their love of the show on social media following its release on Thursday. 

Taking to X/Twitter, fans penned: 'Whatever else happens in the world, we must protect The Rooneys at all costs ❤️';

'today’s the day #TheRealRooneys premieres. watched the first episode and it’s good having @ColeenRoo and @WayneRooney back on my screen. Love there confessionals.';

There was just one criticism, Wayne's mumbling, with one viewer tweeting: 'Anyone else can’t understand Wayne? Colleen is from the same area and I understand her fine #therealrooneys.' [sic]

During the series, Coleen revealed she considered 'separating' from 'careless' husband Wayne on a number of occasions following a series of explosive rows on the series.

The former England footballer and the I'm A Celebrity star admitted they can go days without talking to each other.

'There are times when I think the answer to everything is to see what it's like if we are separated,' said Coleen candidly in a one-to-camera interview after a row with Wayne while on holiday.

The confession came after Coleen and Wayne shared an insight into their marital tiffs in the series, when the footballer confessed: 'We haven't spoke for four days, this is the first time we've talked,' as they sat on their sofa to speak to the cameras.

Coleen replied: 'I'm hoping a break will help us to reconnect. A really nice weekend away for us to have some time together. That's if I don't kill him first.'

Throughout the series, Coleen continued to ask Wayne for more help around the house as she juggles work and motherhood.

'I really need Wayne to help a lot more around the house, which could cause a lot of arguments,' she admitted. 

'Wayne is a good dad but he is a bit carefree and a bit careless. It does cause a few arguments.'

In another clip, Coleen broke down in tears as she told a friend on a walk: 'I'm juggling a lot and the house is not happy, I keep trying to do it and it's just not.'
