TV presenter Alli Simpson has provided a health update on her famous brother Cody, revealing he would be having surgery on Thursday after he was discovered to have a serious haemorrhage on his vocal cords.
The Amazing Race star, 28, recently appeared on Channel Seven's The Morning Show and revealed that her singing star brother, 29, was cautiously optimistic ahead of his surgery this week.
'Everything's happened to him all at once. He was full steam ahead on his album, and then he found out that he'd haemorrhaged on two vocal cords,' Alli began.
'So he has to get surgery. He's actually going into surgery tonight for that.'
She added that Cody was still finding time to work professionally and had even recently filmed a music video without any dancing, as he adjusted to his health demands.
'They had to postpone it because he was then rehearsing for his music video dancing. I can't even watch the video... he dislocated his knee,' she said.

'And in that video, he's like, crawling towards the screen. It's horrible. I can't watch it. So he's decided to not dance in the music video anymore. He got it shot. Cody's so optimistic and positive. He's like, "the universe has a different plan for me right now".'
'He was thinking on his feet, except he wasn't on his feet. He still managed to get the song in the video done... it's amazing. He's made the best of a bad experience.'
On Thursday, Cody shared a post-surgery photo to social media of him at the hospital in a dressing gown, as he reassured fans he was on the mend.
'Onto my last stint of vocal rest for a few weeks now before I start building this voice back,' Cody wrote.
In May, Cody revealed he was forced to temporarily step away from his singing career.
He took to Instagram to share a photo of himself hooked up to an EKG monitor as he opened up about the full extent of what he's been dealing with behind the scenes.
'Hey guys. I originally thought I could keep this private but it's time I share what I've been going through. A month ago we discovered a serious haemorrhage on one of my vocal cords,' Cody began.

It comes after Cody revealed he was forced to temporarily step away from his singing career earlier this month
'It occurred due to my overzealousness in the studio singing, through a sinus infection I didn't know I had. Assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing,' he wrote.
The setback has already disrupted key career commitments, including scheduled promotional appearances, while also putting his upcoming music plans on hold.
'I've now been on and off vocal rest for weeks, cancelling TV and radio performances in the process.
'This has also affected my ability to complete the album and polish up the next singles. I've just been prescribed another two weeks of silence in hopes of avoiding surgery, which demands a much longer recovery process.
'I'm back in the studio now writing strictly as a lyricist on mute with my collaborators, and hearing/writing my vocal melodies on my guitar (which I will eventually replace with my voice when I'm able to). Where there's a will, there's a way.'
Despite the uncertainty, Cody says he is trying to reframe the experience as a forced reset rather than a setback.
'I'd like to bring you on the journey. I've been extremely up and down but am now reframing this as a realignment for the long-term good,' he wrote.
