The Cobra Kai finale release date has been officially confirmed. The hit Netflix series is a sequel to the Karate Kid movie franchise, following the lives of original characters Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (Ralph Macchio), their continued rivalry, and how said rivalry affects a variety of people in their lives, including legacy characters and fresh faces. Cobra Kai season 6, which is the final season of the series, has been split into three parts with five episodes each, with part 1 premiering on July 18, 2024, followed by part 2 on November 15.

Netflix has shared a video featuring footage of the show interspersed with a crowd chanting "Cobra Kai!" and the promise that "Cobra Kai never dies." The end of the video announces that the final episodes are set to premiere on February 13, 2025. This date has been previously reported, as it was announced in a still image at the end of the final episode of part 2. However, the announcement was removed from the episode several hours after it premiered, so this video marks the first time that date has been officially confirmed by the platform. The Characters' Futures Are Unclear

Now that the rumored release date has been confirmed by Netflix, there are officially only two additional months left in the hiatus after the Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 ending. These two months may prove to be crucial for the Karate Kid universe, as they could include announcements about what the future of the franchise will be. Although some of the show's stars have advocated for potential spinoffs, including one that follows the teenage cast to college, none have been officially announced so far.

The ensemble cast of Cobra Kai also includes Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Martin Kove, Peyton List, and Thomas Ian Griffith.

At the time of writing, the only upcoming project in the franchise is the 2025 movie Karate Kid: Legends. While that title brings back Jackie Chan as Mr. Han from the franchise's 2010 reboot, the only member of the Cobra Kai cast who is currently set to return is Ralph Macchio. Because that story will see him transplanted from Southern California to the East Coast, it seems unlikely that any other characters from the show will appear, meaning their post-finale fates in the franchise are still unclear.

The Final Episodes Have A Lot To Prove

It is now just a short time before it will be known if Cobra Kai season 6 can stick the landing for the show. So far, the season has garnered the worst scores of the entire series from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, with 85% from the former and 80% from the latter. While those are still strong scores, they do indicate that diminishing returns have hit the show, so these final episodes will be key to whether the story comes together and fully satisfies audience members who are doubting the show's current direction.
