"Clown" In A Joker A*s Suit!": Married At First Sight Season 18's Emem Just Unloaded On Ikechi & I Think They're The Worst Pairing Ever (SPOILERS)

This article contains possible Married At First Sight season 18 SPOILERS.

Married At First Sight season 18 is sizzling so far, and an explosive confrontation between the deliciously feisty Emem Obot and her wishy-washy husband Ikechi Ojoré was positively volcanic, leaving me wondering if they're the worst MAFS duo of all time. Of course, there's so much competition for that not-so-coveted title. Remember Chris Williams and Paige Banks? They were a train wreck, with Chris sharing AFTER his wedding with Paige that his ex was pregnant with his baby. However, Emem and Ikechi may be giving villain Chris and his unlucky bride a run for their money.

Just as The Joker hilariously taunts his nemesis, Batman, Emem unloads in a style that's unfiltered and funny. Sure, telling off a spouse is wrong in theory, but these two hardly know each other, and Okechi has already crossed some lines. While Emem isn't using The Joker's poison flower to get revenge, or plotting some bizarre caper that will humiliate Gotham's pure-hearted hero, Batman, she's giving as good as she gets. That does not bode well for their relationship.

The Joker and Batman aren't exactly besties, right? This kind of banter has an edge that will tear Emem and Okechi apart.

As though locked in a battle on a Gotham rooftop, under moonlit skies, Emem and Ikechi vie for control of a relationship that should probably die. He thinks she's too "aggressive." Maybe he's right. Emem tells it like it is, fearlessly sharing her point of view. Is that a bad thing? Not really, but she needs a man who appreciates a little fire and brimstone. A person like Ikechi, who prefers "very demure" women, is not going to appreciate the way that she shoots from the hip.

Straightforward, temperamental, demanding... that is Emem. but was she wrong to call out her "box-fresh" husband for failing her so early on? No way. Do you believe in equality between the sexes? I totally do, and therefore, just as much as a man, she has the right to ask for what she wants from a relationship. That being said, the following rant shows that her patience is in dangerously short supply. When Okechi didn't respond to her messages for a couple of days, she went berserk:

Call me an a—— for being MIA? You said you needed space and time. I was texting you. I called you. You did not answer, and then you show up today in this joker a*s suit. I’m done. You’re wild for this. I’ve been texting you and calling you for two f—ing days.

The vitriol did not stop there. Emem called out her "clown" partner again, threatening him with a "circus." She said:

F—ing clown. Bring me a clown, you’re going to get a circus.

Ikechi's Attitude Provokes Emem

Then, He Says She's Too Bold

To flip the script, let's imagine Ikechi in The Joker's role. Diabolically, with a level of passive-aggression that's startling, Ikechi triggers his partner and then watches her explode. When he finally loses it, she's the "villain." Is that really true? Isn't he, just like "The Joker," toying with his "victim," trying to get a rise out of her? Sure he is. So, when Ikechi wouldn't even sit next to his wife during a meeting with a MAFS expert, as seen above, via Lifetime at YouTube, what did he expect? Sunshine and roses?

Every little action like that is going to build up in Emem's mind until she finally blows her stack. I think he's more than intelligent enough to know that he's playing with fire, don't you?

Passive-aggressive people don't like big blow-out fights. They have other ways to do damage.

The Future's Not So Bright

Who Will Win This Battle Of Wills? Both Will Lose!

In the movies, The Joker never finishes Batman... the games go on forever. The Joker's like Wile E. Coyote chasing the Roadrunner through a desert. Look how that turns out. The problem here is that bad Married At First Sight relationships don't have to go on endlessly - in fact, with only a dozen marriages lasting through ALL the seasons, the odds of meeting one's doom are all too high. There doesn't have to be a sequel.

That's why Emem needs to soften her approach if she wants this relationship to last. It's rumored to be over and that may be a good thing. It's a pretty safe bet that Emem won't change. She wants a certain level of respect and if Ikechi doesn't fit her idea of what a man should be, she will never, ever be happy. Conversely, he's not into it - the fact that her personality is so repugnant to him is the biggest red flag of all.

Love should be gentler, more accepting, jollier. These two are not on the same page. They have some happy moments but as this wild argument shows, there are already major problems. On Married At First Sight, there are almost always growing pains as couples get used to one another, but this goes beyond the usual "aches." Emem and Okechi are just too different, and if they are smart, they will end this things as soon as they possibly can.

As per a spoiler post from Stylecaster, Emem and Ikechi are

likely done,

according to a spoiler from @mafsfans. Ikechi may actually have pushed Emem into another man's arms, as there are rumors, based on the same source, that she is engaged to someone else. That isn't a bad thing. Smart people move on - why cling to a past that never made you happy anyway? When people soldier on, looking for what truly makes them happy, they have a better chance of finding a partner who doesn't turn into a comic book nemesis.

Yes, the spoiler might be wrong, but really, do you think these two have what it takes to stay together for a lifetime? I sure don't. Their interactions are awkward - his timid confrontation style probably screams "wimp" to his hot-blooded wife. Meanwhile, he gets so tired of her harangues. Bickering like this is a bad sign. Married At First Sight couples are often at odds, but this duo is actually at war.

Married At First Sight airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
