Cineverse has acquired the North American distribution rights to Dragn from Myriad Pictures.
Directed by Peter Webber (Hannibal Rising), the film was written by Barry Hutchison (Supermansion) and Alexander Gordon Smith (The Box).
James Paxton (Twisters), Lilly Krug (Plane), Carlos Bardem (Assassin’s Creed), and Alice Pagani (Don’t Kill Me) lead the cast alongside Jadran Malkovich (The Ark), Franz Drameh (Legends of Tomorrow), and Alex Lane (A Very Secret Service).
The film’s synopsis reads: Dragn centers on a group of co-workers on a routine corporate team-building trip, which transforms into a nightmare when they unwittingly become the prey of a rogue AI-driven drone. The film delves into the fragility of the human mind, the dangers of AI warfare, and the indomitable spirit required to confront terror in an increasingly digital world.
Dragn is produced by Alex Lane, Oleg Shardin, and Georgia Witkin. Executive Producers include Kirk D’Amico, Sandy Climan, Michael Tadross, Barry Hutchison, Alexander Gordon Smith, Joachim Laqueur, Igor Shardin, Vasiliy Lantsov, Carolin Springborn, and Aleksandr Alpern.
“This film blends modern technological anxiety with classic survival suspense. Dragn follows a group of innocent employees whose weekend in the woods at a mundane corporate retreat suddenly spirals into a relentless, high-stakes nightmare – well timed with modern day,” Fisher said in a statement.
