DeLorean and Christopher Lloyd have reunited in an iconic promo to unveil the Time Capsule. As the company gears up for production of its anticipated electric car, DeLorean Labs, the Web3 tech and innovation arm of the DeLorean ecosystem, is introducing the Time Capsule collection as an exclusive way to gain access to different exciting brand activations, including the chance to win a new DeLorean EV.
Lloyd, who has always been a DeLorean fan, plays himself in the two and a half minute video which pays homage to the character that made him a beloved household name. The video also features playful easter eggs such as the canine role starring none other than a Shiba Inu.
To helm the promo, DeLorean recruited filmmaker Allan Ungar, best known for the viral Uncharted Fan Film and the sleeper hit Bandit. By capturing just the right amount of nostalgia, the promo perfectly encapsulates DeLorean’s initiative to bring their brand to a new generation of auto, film, and digital enthusiasts.

Best known as the time traveling car from Back to the Future, the DeLorean has become an integral part of pop culture, resonating with millions of enthusiasts around the world for nearly four decades. While the DeLorean Motor Company has not manufactured a new vehicle since 1982, their timeless car and its stainless steel frame have since lived on and been featured by Lego, Hot Wheels, major video gaming titles, and in other films such as Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One and the latest Fast and the Furious entry Fast X.
Users can sign up right now at www.deloreanlabs.com for a chance to mint 1 of 88 limited edition physical DeLorean Time Capsules or 1 of 8800 digital collectables. Each Time Capsule will contain exciting and exclusive prizes such as a new DeLorean EV, early build slot reservations, F1 experience packages, DMC Nike Dunk SE 6.0 sneakers, SuiPlay OX1s, Karate Combat VIP seats, retro DMC apparel, limited edition digital DeLoreans drivable in Motorverse Web3 games, and many more prizes and collaborations to be announced.
Following the announcement at Token 2049 in Singapore of the DeLorean Labs and Sui Foundation partnership, the company opened its first limited mint window offering 800 Time Capsules on DeloreanLabs.com. All 800 were claimed within only 32 minutes of their release. In order to qualify and secure a capsule, users can keep an eye out for three more exclusive claim windows, the first taking place today, and the final two taking place the weeks of October 28th, and November 18th. The grand reveal will happen in December 2024 when all collectibles will be simultaneously unveiled.
