Tarek El Moussa Throws Shade at Christina Haack’s Ex Josh Hall Over ‘The Flip Off’
Christina Haack and ex Josh Hall are sharing the screen one last time.
Six months after the HGTV star and her estranged husband broke up, their troubled marriage takes center stage in the upcoming series The Flip Off.
“This is a competition,” Josh told Christina in a sneak peek of the show, which premieres Jan. 29. “You’ve got to pull out all the stops. Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do.”
The pair—who was set to star alongside Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his current wife Heather Rae El Moussa—appeared to be driving to the house they’ll be renovating for the series.
“Halls rule,” Josh said as he drove. “You’re supposed to say it with me or repeat it or something that shows you’re with me here. Remember, you’re a Hall now. Don’t get confused in this competition about what your last name is.”
But the tense interaction didn’t end there, with the real estate agent calling Christina “rude” for not responding to his pep talk. She snapped back, “I don’t ever talk.”
Josh disagreed with Christina, asking, “Do you know how much s--t you say?”
“I’m just like, ‘I wish you’d shut up already,’” he continued. “My wife’s pissing me off already.”
The interior designer—who shares children Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with Tarek, and son Hudson, 5, with ex-husband Ant Anstead—simply replied, “Are we there yet?”
Josh and Christina’s marriage reached a breaking point while filming, as the latter confided in Tarek about the news.
“Josh and I officially split up,” she told her ex in a separate sneak peek. “We had a blow up—middle fingers in my face. Things with Josh have been bad for a long time. The kids literally ask me to leave.”
“I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time,” Christina—who separated from Tarek after seven years of marriage in 2016—explained while wiping tears from her face. “I can’t get out of it. Everything since 2016 has been so hard and so horrible. It’s really taken a really bad toll on me.”

Following the split, Tarek and Heather confirmed that Josh would no longer be competing as her partner. While it’s not clear how long Josh will join Christina in the competition, Ant was seen filming the series with her the same month, seemingly filling in the spousal role for the show.
As Christina navigates her divorce from Josh, whom she married in 2022, her loved ones are standing by her side.
“We support her," Heather said in an E! News video in July. Meanwhile, Tarek emphasized that he’s confident Christina will “get through this” challenging part of her life.
"Life's tough, s--t happens," Tarek—who tied the knot with the Selling Sunset alum in 2021—continued. "We got one shot at life and we gotta do what's best for us, so whatever she needs, we're here to help."
