Chrissy Teigen Claps Back After Critic Says She Only Has Kids to “Stay Relevant”
Esti Stephens feels that hustle, loyalty, respect towards John Cena.
Chrissy Teigen revealed that her and John Legend’s 23-month-old daughter recently developed a fascination with the former WWE star and now owns multiple action figures in his likeness.
The cookbook author—who also shares Luna, 8, Miles, 6, and son Wren, 18 months with the singer—posted five clips of Esti playing with her new figurine of the Ricky Stanicky actor, in which she hilariously mentions John by name several times.
"a few months ago, Esti mysteriously became obsessed with John Cena," Chrissy captioned her Instagram carousel post Dec. 21. "So I got her more John Cena’s and now she can’t do anything without a John Cena."
Wearing rose-covered pajamas, Esti asks her mom to open the new toy package before she starts to play with him and use him to pet one of the family dogs.
In another clip, Chrissy and an unnamed woman ask her if she "married John Cena?" after she tried to put the model's ring on him. The final video shows Esti trying to type on a kids' keyboard using the action figure's arm.
The funny home videos were a hit with Chrissy's followers, who showed their love in the comments section.
Comedian Robin Thede commented that Esti and the wrestler "have to meet now," while another poster said that an in-person meeting could go either way.
"Imagine her seeing him in real life," the person wrote. "It'll be hit or miss. Like kids meeting their favorite characters at Disney."
A third person related to Chrissy's hilarious mom moment, writing, "My son was obsessed with him when he was little. Our cat's name is John Cena because of it."
Chrissy's update on Esti comes just a few weeks after the 39-year-old gave some insight into her family's journey with Miles' Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, which they're still in the process of understanding themselves.
After a fan asked the Cravings by Chrissy Teigen founder if she would "consider sharing more" about the condition, she said, “I definitely plan to! We are still learning over here ourselves!"

The Sports Illustrated model shared Miles' diagnosis back in July after fans noticed a patch on his arm in a photo from the Paris Olympics.
"A lot of you noticed something a little special about a photo I posted a few days ago," Chrissy wrote on Instagram at the time. "You noticed his type-1 diabetes monitor and extended so much love and encouragement in every way possible. I was, and am, so blown away by the kindness of this community, already."
She added, "It helps Miles so much to know so many other people are going through the same thing and he is not alone."
