It's been an eventful few weeks for fans of streaming potboilers, with the third season of Lioness and the fourth season of Reacher having been released back-to-back. There was also Neagley, the long-awaited Reacher spin-off that premiered to excellent reviews and terrific viewership in September. And this past week saw the return of heavy hitters such as Tulsa King and The Diplomat. The streak will continue in a few days, when Prime Video welcomes back one of its hottest hits — a show that has been off the air for a Larry David-period of time. The series originally premiered in 2022, the same year as Reacher. But while Reacher has already concluded four full seasons, the companion piece has yet to deliver its sophomore season.

This will change in a few days, when it'll become clear whether the lengthy off-season has affected viewership in any way. Recent reports have suggested that shows tend to lose viewers the longer they take between seasons. For instance, the second season of Netflix's The Gentlemen saw a 45% decline in opening week viewership in comparison to Season 1, perhaps because two years had passed between them. On the other hand, Reacher delivered its biggest season yet, having conditioned audiences to expect an annual return. The upcoming Prime Video tentpole features an A-lister in the lead role: Chris Pratt. His star has only grown in the years since, with the conclusion of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and his subsequent move toward an even bigger franchise: The Super Mario Bros.

Here's When the Prime Video Tentpole Will Return

We're talking, of course, about The Terminal List. The action-thriller series, also featuring Constance Wu and Taylor Kitsch, kept interest alive by releasing a spin-off in 2025. Titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, the show featured Pratt in a supporting role, with Kitsch playing the titular character. The new season of The Terminal List, which premieres on October 21, will welcome Tom Hopper, Olga Kurylenko, and Dar Salim to the roster. The first season received mediocre reviews and is now sitting at a 40% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Stay tuned to Collider to find out whether the new season can redeem the series critically.
