As Chris Hemsworth lets fans into his family’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, he’s curious how the mental health revelation will impact his career.

The actor, who explored his father Craig’s diagnosis in the documentary A Road Trip to Remember, admitted he’s worried audiences are “no longer going to believe” him as the leading man he’s long been, since revealing his genetic predisposition for the brain disorder.

“I wondered if I was letting people too far in,” Hemsworth told The Guardian. “Are they no longer going to believe in the action star or the Marvel character? And do I want people to know my fears and insecurities to this level?”

In the 2025 Disney+ documentary, the MCU star took his father Craig on a road trip to spots from their past, in attempt to support memory function through social connection.

Hemsworth added, “It was so deeply personal. It was a love letter to my father. It empowered him for a period, and stimulated memories that were being taken away from him.”
