See Chris Evans, Alba Baptista's First Appearance Since Welcoming Baby at Oscars 2026
Chris Evans can’t help but marvel and his and Alba Baptista’s daughter.
A little less than a year after the couple welcomed baby Alma Grace Baptista Evans, the Captain America star detailed how his life has changed.
“I have a daughter now and you need a really good reason to wanna go to work now,” Evans admitted during a panel at Fan Expo Boston recently, as seen in videos on social media. “You need a really good reason to want to go to work now. So, priorities have shifted a bit.”
The 45-year-old’s rare insight comes shortly after his wife appeared in Mother Mary alongside Anne Hathaway, and emphasized that Evans was “very excited” for her opportunity.
“He’s absolutely the best support guide,” Baptista—who welcomed her daughter with Evans in October—told Entertainment Tonight in April. “He has the best advice.”
And the 29-year-old couldn’t think of a better person to have on her team, adding, “He’s just the best human, that’s it.”
Since tying the knot in 2023, Evans and Baptista have kept their romance fairly private, but Evans did tease the couple was taking a big step last summer ahead of welcoming their baby girl.
“We’re laying low,” Evans told E! News last June of how the couple was spending their summer. “We’re enjoying our time, just relaxing.”
Indeed, Evans noted it had been an “incredible” two years of marital bliss musing, “It’s wonderful.”
Meanwhile, the couple expanding their family has always been a dream of the Materalists star.
“Wife, kids, building a family,” he shared with People in 2022. “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it's actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn't the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”

It’s no surprise priorities have shifted for Evans, as he admitted at the time “couldn’t think of anything better” when it came to starting a family.
“I love the idea of tradition and ceremony,” he added. “I’ve had a lot of that in my life.”

2025: Expanding the Family
In 2025, Chris and Alba confirmed they were expecting their first baby together after two years of marriage.
And in June of that year, the Materialists actor couldn't contain how blissful marriage had been for the couple.
"It's incredible," Chris effused to E! News in June 2025. "It's wonderful."
The couple welcomed their daughter in October of that year.
