Chris Cooper Signs With UTA

Actor Chris Cooper has inked with UTA for representation in all areas.

Cooper is best known for his Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning supporting turn in Columbia Pictures’ Adaptation, written by Charlie Kaufman and directed by Spike Jonze. He also earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance on Broadway in Lucas Hnath’s A Doll’s House, Part 2.

Most recently, Cooper was seen starring alongside Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor in The History of Sound, which premiered to critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival. He also recently appeared opposite Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney in Jon S. Baird’s film Everything Is Going to be Great, prior to that appearing opposite Keira Knightley in Hulu’s Boston Strangler.

Prior to that, Cooper starred in and directed With/In: Volume 2, appearing opposite his wife Marianne Leone, who wrote the screenplay. Other recent film credits for the actor include Focus Features/Plan B’s political satire Irresistible directed by Jon Stewart, Greta Gerwig’s Academy Award-nominated Little Women, and TriStar Pictures’ A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, opposite Tom Hanks and Matthew Rhys.

Earlier in his career, Cooper appeared in notable films including American Beauty, The Bourne Identity, Capote, Jarhead, The Town, and August, Osage County, among others.
