EXCLUSIVE: After inking a deal to write and produce for Sony through his new company, Unknown Quantity, Chris Bremner has taken to Screen Gems with White Knight, a new spec from Christopher William Young.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but the project is described as an outrageous high-concept R-rated comedy. Set to produce alongside Jeff Arkuss under his Unknown Quantity, Bremner has been on a tear in the last year, finding success setting up a trio of original scripts from emerging writers in a tough marketplace. Prior to this, he set up the films Permission by Dan Roe and You Up by Gabe Delahaye at Sony, both off of pitches.

This marks the first sale for Young, a Florida State grad celebrating a potentially life-changing win, while still working as a bartender at a popular L.A. hotspot. While senior execs in 2026 use their relationships to chase big IP, bringing together top-level writers and directors in hopes of cutting through the noise and securing a sale, Unknown Quantity Creative Executive Brandon Xie is among the next generation of execs taking a different route, in trying to find their way to unearthing unknown gems. He came across Young’s script on the Black List website, flipped for the concept, and immediately called Bremner upon reading, saying he thought he might have just found a winner.

Bremner came to his Sony deal after architecting the third and fourth installments in the Bad Boys franchise, Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which together grossed over $837 million worldwide. Currently, he’s in early development on a new Men in Black movie for Sony and has also been set to write a third National Treasure movie for Disney.

Bremner and Unknown are repped by WME, Kaplan/Perrone, and JSSK. Young is repped by Range.
