Chloe Madeley has spoken out about the moment she was 'propositioned' by a rugby legend in front of her then-husband James Haskell

The personal trainer, 37, who split from James, 39, last year, revealed the player made an advance on her as she stood in a DJ booth with her then-spouse.

Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous Magazine, Chloe said: 'I don’t want to belittle anyone else’s awful experiences at the hands of disgusting men and I would never want to be insensitive. But this incident was such a non-event for me.'

The daughter of This Morning presenter Richard Madeley, 68, added: 'Everybody had been drinking for multiple hours. It happened so quickly and I was like, "OK, some guy just grabbed my a**e".'

'I told James about it on the way home. He was really good and asked how I felt. I said, "Hmm, everyone was drunk," and I honestly never thought about it again until he wrote the book.'

She also added that it is not acceptable for men to 'touch women or say inappropriate things, thinking it's banter'.

The personal trainer, 37, who split from James, 39, last year, revealed one rugby star groped her as she stood in a DJ booth with the former rugby union player (pictured with James 2022)

But she claimed that it was one of those situations where she 'didn't feel threatened' and 'no trauma had been inflicted' saying it was just a 'thing that happened' and in that particular environment, it wasn't surprising to her.

The star also admitted that she was hesitant to come out and say the truth about how the situation made her feel.

Earlier this year, James revealed that Chloe was 'propositioned' by a 'squeaky-clean rugby great' during a boozy night of partying.

The revelations were made in his new book, with the former rugby star also alleging that another well-known player propositioned Chloe at the same party.

In the book, 'The Good, The Bad and The Rugby', the former British and Irish Lion details the encounter, but does not out the stars in question.

Co-authoring the new book with fellow former England international Mike Tindall and rugby presenter Alex Payne, James wrote;

'I recently had a call from a supposedly squeaky-clean rugby great who was getting up to all sorts of mischief in a notoriously hedonistic European capital.'

'But I wasn’t at all surprised, because the same guy had propositioned Chloe a few years earlier while I was DJ’ing a few feet away, and his teammate, another supposedly squeaky-clean rugby great.'

Chloe said: 'I don’t want to belittle anyone else’s awful experiences at the hands of disgusting men and I would never want to be insensitive. But this incident was such a non-event for me'

Again, without naming the accused, James goes on to take a dig at the former rugby star, remarking how the image someone portrays in the media is not necessarily reflective of the person they are in the real world.

He wrote: 'Of course, putting yourself about in the media doesn’t just allow you to portray your real self, it also means you can make yourself look a better person than you are.'

James and Chloe, who married in 2018, confirmed they had split in a joint statement released in October last year.

The couple who had starred in their own ITV reality show Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, announced: 'Chloe and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023.'

'We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time - certainly not while the television show was airing - but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.'

She added: 'Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time.'

'Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love.'

Sharing his own statement to Instagram, James added: 'It's with a lot of sadness I write this post, but unfortunately, in the world we live in, it has to be done.'

'My priority is my daughter's and Chloe's happiness and security. For that reason, I won't be commenting any further.'

James and Chloe, who married in 2018, confirmed they had split in a joint statement released in October last year, and since their split, the former couple have successfully co-parented their daughter Bodhi

In May of this year, Chloe opened up about how her separation from her estranged husband 'was f***ing awful' as she gave an insight into their relationship.

Chloe admitted the pair broke up as they both wanted their relationship to 'stop being awful' and 'miserable'.

After their split, the couple still lived together in their north London home and were often spotted together with Bodhi as they tried to be as amicable as they could for their little girl.

Despite some fans thinking the two were back together because of this, Chloe previously confirmed that they had both moved on adding that she expects the former England player to find someone soon.

She said: 'It'll probably happen for James long before it happens to me if it hasn't already.'

'I'm waiting for the conversation to happen at some point.'
