Cher is reportedly in talks to perform the Glastonbury 2025 legends slot in a move that could delight her fans and mark her 60th anniversary in music.

The Believe hitmaker, 78, is thought to be in 'meaningful talks' with bosses of the Somerset-based festival which takes place in late June.

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis will be keen to get the biggest stars for next year as 2026 will be a fallow year for the event to let the farm area recover.

The Sun claims Cher is now in the planning stages of her potential Glastonbury appearance and is also hoping to perform a handful of UK shows next year.

A source told the publication: 'Cher is practically the legend of all pop music legends. She would be incredible.

'It's been a long time coming but she is finally in meaningful talks with Glastonbury about playing the legend's slot.

'Everything is very much in the planning stages but Cher is hoping to play a handful of shows in the UK next year and Glastonbury could be one of them.

A representative for Cher has been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

She had hinted at the possibility last year during a chat on Radio 2 and when asked by host Rylan Clark if she would perform there, she said: 'I'd like to.'

It comes as Cher is set to release her first greatest hits album in 20 years.

The compilation album, titled Forever, will include a number of her biggest hits, including Believe, If I Could Turn Back Time, Song For The Lonely and The Way Of Love.
