Charli xcx’s ‘The Moment’ Sets HBO Max Premiere Date

Charli xcx‘s tour mockumentary The Moment, in which she plays a fictionalized version of herself, is set to make its streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max in the U.S. on Friday, May 29, debuting on HBO linear at 8 p.m. ET the following day.

Directed by Aidan Zamiri, A24‘s The Moment follows a rising pop star as she navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.

Zamiri penned the script with Bertie Brandes, working from an original story by three-time Grammy winner Charli xcx, who also produced alongside David Hinojosa. The pic’s cast also includes Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Kylie Jenner, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Isaac Powell, Rachel Sennott, Rish Shah, Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Workéyè.

A24 premiered The Moment at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before releasing the film in theaters on January 30.
