Celebrity chef Khanh Ong has once again sent fans salivating after sharing the recipe for his 'Christmas Crack' dessert online.

The MasterChef Australia star went viral in 2023 after unveiling the recipe for the surprisingly simple dessert which called for just five ingredients - butter, brown sugar, chocolate and Salada crackers.

Now, the famous foodie has done it again, this time slightly tweaking the recipe from last year's iteration.

Taking to Instagram, Khanh shared a video explaining how to make the viral concoction.

Unlike the Salada crackers from last year's viral confection, Khanh suggested followers use pretzels and Crunchy Nut Cornflakes as the base for the festive treat.

'Basically whatever you put as the bottom layer just needs to cover the baking tray and don’t make it too thick or overlap to much,' Khanh explained.

'Thin is better cause of how hard the sugar becomes it’s easier to eat.'

The deceptively simple recipe, which is Khan's third iteration, calls for just three basic ingredients - butter, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and dark chocolate.

'Some of you said to use white chocolate or Caramilk, but tbh it’s so sugary already I make it with Caramilk last year and didn’t enjoy as much as dark chocolate,' he wrote in the video caption.

'This doesn’t need the extra sweetness.'

The recipe also calls for salt flakes and a topping of your choosing to finish the dish.

In the video, Khanh layers the a Crunchy Nut Cornflake and pretzel mixture on the bottom of the tray then pours a gooey caramel mixture over it before baking.

Once ready, he removes the tray and adds chocolate to the molten confection as well as salt flakes and coconut.

He added that you can top the treat with whatever you like but the salt flakes were non-negotiable.
