Before they hit the big time and spent their days hopping from red carpets to awards shows, there was a time when Hollywood's biggest stars had a more ordinary way of making their money. 

Jamie Lee Curtis recently celebrated her almost five decade long career in acting, but revealed she never thought she would make a name for herself on camera and initially planned to become a cop.

And she isn't the only star who fell into acting, with other stars starting out behind the humble counter at Subway or their local ice cream parlour before they got their big break. 

Meanwhile, rather bizarrely, one star was tasked with shooting armadillos at his local golf club, while another had to collect praying mantis pods.

Another tried her hand at massage therapy and another was a lion tamer.
