Brittany Snow Joins Lionsgate’s ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’

Brittany Snow is getting back in business with Lionsgate after starring in their hit TV series The Hunting Wives, and will join the upcoming Paul Feig directed sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, opposite Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, and Paul Anthony Kelly.

Snow will play the role of Marybeth in the production from Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman; Pretty Dangerous Pictures’ Laura Fischer and Feig, and Honey Trap’s Sweeney.

The sequel to the $400-million-grossing blockbuster The Housemaid will open in Dec. 17, 2027.

In The Housemaid’s Secret, Millie Calloway (Sweeney) returns, taking a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see, only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own.

Michele Morrone will also return to star as Enzo, reprising his role from the first film. Cameras roll later this year.

Lionsgate optioned the Freida McFadden’s literary trilogy (plus a fourth entry, a short story) early on, recognizing the potential for a female-driven feature franchise.

Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first book, will also return to adapt The Housemaid’s Secret. Carly Elter, who oversaw the first movie for Hidden Pictures, is returning as executive producer. Alex Young of Hidden Pictures will also executive produce. Honey Trap’s Kaylee McGregor will co-produce.

Chelsea Kujawa and Maria Ascanio are overseeing the film for Lionsgate. Robert Melnik negotiated the deal on behalf of the studio.

Snow’s credits include New Line Cinema’s John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray, the Universal blockbuster Pitch Perfect franchise, and A24’s critically acclaimed horror film X. She currently stars in the Netflix/Lionsgate/3 Arts series The Hunting Wives, which is headed into its second season on Netflix. Additional recent projects include Netflix’s Emmy-nominated limited series The Beast in Me, opposite Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, Netflix’s The Night Agent, Hulu’s Murdaugh: Death in the Family, and the Academy Award-nominated short film Red, White and Blue. She is represented by Gersh, Principal Entertainment LA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
