Britney Spears surfaces after bizarre social media posts as she's driven by chauffeur following her DUI arrest

Britney Spears resurfaced on Thursday as she was driven around by a chauffeur, just months after resolving her DUI case.

The 44-year-old Toxic hitmaker was photographed riding in the passenger seat of a black Mercedes SUV as it cruised through her hometown of Thousand Oaks, California, with a male driver behind the wheel.

Wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat and oversized sunglasses, the singer appeared in good spirits, flashing a smile as she chatted with her young driver. 

The outing marked one of her latest public appearances since her March arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, which resulted in a three-week stay at a substance abuse rehabilitation facility.

In May, Spears accepted a plea deal known as a 'wet reckless' - a reduced reckless driving charge stemming from the original DUI allegation - and was sentenced to 12 months' probation, fined $571 and ordered to complete 30 hours of DUI education classes.

Her latest sighting comes as fans have continued to raise eyebrows over a string of increasingly bizarre Instagram posts, including one in which she claimed a thief had stolen half her wardrobe and cash, prompting her to 'rebel' on social media.

The chauffeur outing also follows a proud family milestone, with her sons, Jayden, 19, and Sean Preston, 20, recently making their runway debut at Paris Fashion Week while publicly praising their mother's support. 

Speaking to Vogue in an interview published Thursday, the teenager revealed Spears had been 'so nervous' ahead of their runway debut.

'She was just looking out for us and making sure that this was what we wanted to do,' he added.

Jayden also revealed that the pop icon 'sent us flowers to our hotel as a good luck thing, and called and texted us so many times. It was good to have that and to carry that with us before we went out there.'

He went on to share that his famous mother never doubted either of her sons would shine on the runway. 

'She was like, "Yeah, you guys are my sons. You've got this."'

Although they had landed the coveted gig well before Paris Fashion Week, Jayden said he and Sean Preston leaned on one another in the lead-up to the show.

'Preston and I were always just checking in on each other, asking each other how we were going to walk, and making fun of each other a little bit.'

The teen continued, 'We were like, "Don't make that face. You can't make that face..."'

Sean Preston, meanwhile, admitted walking a runway had never been on his radar, but explained what convinced him to take part.

'I just did it because it was the brand Vetements, and there were such incredible people there.'

Two months earlier, Sean Preston quietly paid tribute to his famous mother by adopting her surname on social media.

TMZ reported in April that he had changed his Instagram name to 'Sean P Spears,' having previously gone simply by Sean Preston.

Both of Spears' sons relocated to Hawaii with their father in 2023, although Kevin Federline later revealed in his memoir You Thought You Knew, released last year, that Jayden has since returned to Los Angeles.

The family's renewed closeness reportedly proved crucial in the aftermath of Spears' DUI arrest, with both sons said to have staged an intervention that ultimately persuaded the singer to seek treatment.

'The boys started to get involved. They're the only ones she listens to, and they were so loving, so kind, but also so firm. This was non-negotiable to them,' a source previously told the Daily Mail.

Spears, who has long had a strained relationship with her father, Jamie, later described the ordeal as a 'blessing in disguise,' opening up about her ongoing 'spiritual journey' in an Instagram post shared last month.

Just weeks later, the Grammy winner stunned fans by claiming that much of her wardrobe had been stolen from her home years earlier.

She wrote in June: 'Not a victim, I’m just curious as to how people were able to make me feel so cheap and crazy when my coats, jewelry and half my wardrobe went missing 3 years ago …

'I’m going back to that week because it actually did something to me physiologically when the response was nothing we can do about it … it 100 percent hurt me emotionally and felt completely helpless … '

The Oops!...I Did It Again hitmaker declined to show the missing coats or jewelry, but instead modeled a series of different outfits for her followers.

She concluded: 'it’s honestly strange, I don’t perhaps miss the clothes … I will say ever since that happened I 100 percent rebelled on Instagram and showed myself as cheap and probably secretly angry …

'question is if this is crazy talk or did whomever came into my home and stole that much money know exactly what they were doing !!!'

While Spears did not reveal exactly what had been taken or estimate the value of the missing items, the posts quickly sparked concern among fans.

The surprising confession came just hours after the singer made another headline-grabbing revelation in a chaotic Father's Day Instagram post.

Spears shared a video of herself dancing while holding a miniature guitar.

In the caption, the Baby One More Time singer admitted Father's Day had been an 'emotional day' for her.

'It's an emotional day for me,, guitars remind me of baby aliens,, such gentle strings,,, music is said to be the speech of angels [sic],' Spears penned to her followers.

She then ended the post with a surprise confession, writing: 'I bought this one in Mexico in hopes one day I can have another baby.'
