Brilliant Minds” is looking D.O.A, with NBC pulling the final six episodes of the medical drama from the schedule.

The show, and indeed pretty much all NBC primetime programming, was going on hiatus for the next two weeks as the network shifts to wall-to-wall coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics. But now, NBC has announced that “The Voice: Battle of Champions” will air Mondays from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT beginning with the season premiere on Feb. 23.

No date has been set for the return of “Brilliant Minds,” aside from the fact the final episodes will air at some point later in the season or over the summer, per an individual with knowledge of the decision.

“Brilliant Minds” has seen a steep decline in the ratings in its second season. According to Nielsen Live+7 data for the Season 2 premiere, the show managed a 0.28 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.67 million viewers. For the episode airing on Jan. 12, the most recent episode for which Live+7 data is available, the show pulled 0.19 rating and 2.6 million viewers. Compare that to the Season 1 finale, which drew a 0.32 rating and 4.2 million viewers back in January 2025.

It should be noted that the above does not include streaming viewership on Peacock. Final decisions on “Brilliant Minds'” fate will be made closer to the NBC upfront in May.

NBC currently has five drama pilots in contention for the 2026-2027 season, including a reboot of “The Rockford Files.”

“The Voice” Season 29 is being dubbed “The Battle of Champions,” named due to the fact the coaching panel is comprised entirely of “Voice” winners. The series is produced by MGM Television, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
