Breaking Bad star Dean Norris and his longtime wife Bridget Norris have called it quits on their marriage while dealing with major financial issues.

The 63-year-old actor's wife filed for divorce in Riverside County, California, back in 2025, citing 'irreconcilable differences,' according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The pair, who married in October 2001, separated on January 15, 2025 according to the documents.

Norris, whose co-star RJ Mitte died at 34 last month, and Bridget have five children together, including two minors: Zoe, 17, and Dean, 16. Bridget asked for joint legal and physical custody of the children.

She also requested spousal support and asked the court to determine each party's rights to any property acquired during the course of their marriage.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Norris' representatives for comment.

Norris responded to the divorce filing months later, though it doesn't appear that the divorce has been finalized yet.

Court documents also revealed that the couple are in the middle of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy for their restaurant Swing Inn Cafe, located in Temecula, California, which they bought in 2022.

Norris said that the restaurant's gross revenue plunged by $1 million from 2024 to 2025.

The company reported having only around $100k to 500k in assets and between $1 million and $10 million in liabilities.

Aside from the cafe, the estranged pair also manage the Norris Performing Arts Center.

Norris is best known for playing DEA agent Hank Schrader on Breaking Bad from 2008 until 2013.

His character was the boisterous brother-in-law of drug kingpin Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston.

He later reprised his role on the Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul.

He most recently starred in the legal drama Confession alongside Rob Lowe and James Franco, and appeared on four episodes of the TV show Liam and Michael.

Last month, Norris suffered a loss after his Breaking Bad co-star RJ Mitte died by suicide at 34.

Norris, Cranston and Aaron Paul were among the first to publicly mourn Mitte.

In a post on X, Norris, who starred as the uncle of Mitte's character, wrote: 'Oh my God! Was working just found out about RJ. I am heartbroken. Though RJ didn’t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set.'

'He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed. This is so heartbreaking, I can’t believe it. Thinking of him and his family.'

A county official confirmed to TMZ that Mitte, known for playing Walter White Jr on the hit AMC show, died in Texas.

The publication added that it was told by a separate source that Mitte had died by suicide.

Cranston, 70, said that he is 'in deep despair' after his on-screen son's passing as he shared a heartbreaking Instagram tribute, writing: 'I’ll miss you, son.'

Norris said Mitte 'will be greatly missed' following his passing

He added that it was 'especially devastating' that Mitte 'took his own life' as the two had recently been texting and making plans to meet up for lunch.

Meanwhile Paul, 47, who played Jesse Pinkman in the show, told The Hollywood Reporter: 'I am at a loss.

'I am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed. And to whoever happens to be reading this, please know you are loved, and you are not alone. Always remember that.'

Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP) when he was three, and he went on to advocate for actors and those working in the entertainment industry with disabilities.

CP is a group of disorders that affect movement, posture and balance due to abnormal brain development or damage. Symptoms range from muscle stiffness and poor motor control to difficulties with balance and coordination.
