Brandi Glanville's friend launches fundraiser for 'exhausted' star as she battles 'overwhelming' medical bills amid facial fungus and parasite ordeal

Brandi Glanville’s friend is hoping to raise $28,000 to help pay for the reality star’s health treatments amid her battle with a fungal parasite.

Gina Rodriguez started a GoFundMe page with a graphic asking viewers to ‘help Brandi on her journey to get her health back,’ emphasizing their focus on treatment, surgeries, recovery and hope.

Featuring several images of the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s self-described 'fungal ball,' the poster calls for ‘real treatment’ and ‘better days ahead’ after Glanville, 53, recently revealed that doctors also found something 'alive and moving' in her face.

‘Brandi has been fighting this for years and still has months of costly treatments and surgeries ahead,’ Rodriguez told the Daily Mail in a statement on Wednesday.

‘She hasn’t been able to work, and right now her focus needs to be on getting healthy, not the overwhelming financial burden.’

As of Wednesday evening, the page had raised $400 of its goal.

It comes after the actress revealed she ‘been diagnosed with highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis and Mononucleosis.'

'We did the MRI and it's all on the left side of my face. But then the doctor decided to do an ultrasound,' she continued in her Instagram post.

'We did the ultrasound in the doctor's office and the technician said that there was something alive in my face and that it was moving and she'd never seen anything like it.'

Rodriguez shared on the GoFundMe page that, even with insurance, Brandi's treatment alone is costing approximately $3,300 – $6,000 every month.

‘That does not include all of the additional expenses associated with her upcoming surgeries, procedures, medications, doctors, dental work and everyday living expenses while she is unable to work normally,’ she wrote, adding that she can only manage to continue with her podcast.

The page on the crowdfunding platform added: 'She is exhausted, in pain and trying to mentally prepare herself for months more of treatment and surgeries.' 

Glanville has vowed to remove the alien body herself if she can't find a doctor 'to cut this out of my face.'

'I also have a fungal ball in my face that needs to be removed. I have to get the metals from old dental work out of my mouth, my breast implants need to come out, and I'm looking at 4–6 months of daily IV treatment,' she further explained on social media.

'The treatment has NOT been easy and so far I’ve had very little improvement. I still have a couple surgeries ahead of me and months of treatment to go.'

She added, 'I just want this s**t OUT of my body. I want my health back. I want my life back. I want to feel like me again.'

On Sunday, Glanville revealed that she's been doing daily 18-hour IV drips at home to treat her current health woes.

'I know I'm so skinny right now,' she began in the clip as she explained in an Instagram video.

'I can't eat because the things I do... decreases my food [sic],' she explained. 'I feel like death. I look like death.'

The mom-of-two shared insight into her day-to-day schedule, explaining that she learned to prepare her IV and said she also has a nurse visit her home daily to help her with the treatments.

'For the first time, I'm showing you what my life has really looked like behind closed doors. The treatments. The IVs. The exhaustion. The days nobody saw,' she said.

In the rest of her video, Glanville went through what she had on her kitchen counter and briefly talked about why she has been getting IVs everyday.

'I just finished this IV,' she said in the video in a seemingly lethargic manner. 'It's imipenem. It's on a pump.'

'I had to learn to do all these with the nurse,' she continued.

'Now she comes four hours-a-day in the evenings to do my other IV, but I have to do this IV before she comes for the 4-hour IV, and then I start this at 4 o'clock, the imipenem, and I have that overnight.'

She said that in total, she is continuously getting treatment intravenously about 18 hours each day, adding, 'It's a lot of setup.'

According to the Mayo Clinic, imipenem is used in combination with cilastatin to treat infections caused by bacteria in many different parts of the body.

Glanville has been dealing with her facial disfigurement for over three years now, and has forked out over six figures on various treatments .

She's had multiple diagnoses, with some doctors previously telling Glanville that it was nothing more than 'scar tissue.'

'There's a lot of dismissing that goes on in the medical field,' she previously said.

Despite her health woes, Glanville is set to return to the small screen later this month on season five of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.

The former Bravo star will join other celebrities like actress Candace Cameron Bure, Kate Gosselin's estranged son Collin, Baywatch alum David Charvet, and even her former RHOBH co-star Mauricio Umansky on the series.

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test premieres on September 24 on Fox.
