Boyz II Men typically take their fans on a walk down memory lane — or in some cases a dance — during their ongoing Las Vegas residency.

Performing as a trio since 2003: Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris, and Shawn Stockman teased a potential reunion with Michael McCary, of the group's classic era, when he joined his old mates on stage at the Cosmopolitan's Chelsea Theater on Friday night.

While McCary, who left the group in part due to health problems, didn't sing with the guys, his surprise appearance did set off chatter about a potential reunion.

'There will be another day that we'll all be onstage together, trust me,' McCary, 52, told the crowd. 'It's coming, and I love these guys.'

Nathan, Wanyá and Shawn's Boyz II Men residency wrapped Saturday night and they will kick off their highly-anticipated tour on September 6.

The vocal harmony group, best known for emotional ballads a cappella harmonies, first formed in 1985, but over the next few years they would hone their skills and see a few members come and go.

Once McCary joined Morris, Stockman and Morris (no relation) the group found the magical combination and huge success would soon follow.

As a quartet Boyz II Men featured all four members as lead vocalists, which stood out amongst the typical R&B group arrangement of one or two lead singers and a team of background singers.

The multiple-lead arrangement became a Boyz II Men trademark, while McCary's deep bass tone became one of the group's signature sounds.

Their debut studio album, Cooleyhighharmony (1991) peaked at number three on the Billboard 200, en route to becoming a smash hit, selling more than nine million copies, earning it Platinum status nine-times over by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA).

The success of the album had the help of the hit 1991 singles Motownphilly and It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday, both of which peaked within the top five of the Billboard Hot 100.

The group's next big hit the following year, End Of The Road, would actually reach the coveted mountain top of hitting number one, a spot it remained at for 13 weeks, which set a new record at the time.

Boyz II Men would later break their own record two times with the singles I'll Make Love To You and One Sweet Day (with Mariah Carey), which ultimately set the new records by claiming the 14th and 16th spots, respectively.

The Philadelphia natives would release six albums, in all as a quartet, with Full Circle (2002) serving as the last Boyz II Men album to include the bass singer.

'Let me tell you something, all of that s**t is wrong. All of it [is] inaccurate, 100%,' Stockman, 51, said of all the rumors surrounding the group shakeup two decades earlier, before inviting McCary onstage on Friday.

'Yes, have we had our disagreements? Yes. Have we had our share of differences? Yes,' the singer sad of his friend and colleague. 'But this man is still our brother and will always be our brother 'til the day we die.'

In 2003, after two decades of pain and back issues, McCary finally got a diagnosis to his ailments: multiple sclerosis, which is 'a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system),' the Mayo Clinic reports.

Signs and symptoms of MS can vary widely between patients, with some people eventually losing the ability to walk independently or move about at all, while others may experience long periods of remission without any new symptoms depending on the type of MS.

Boyz II Men have sold more than 60 million albums

McCary kept his condition a secret from his group members, as well as the public, for 13 years, until finally confirming his diagnosis in 2016.

In rare public appearances since his diagnosis, the singer has been seen using a cane as a precaution.

With more than 60 million albums sold worldwide over the course of their career, Boyz II Men are considered one of the more successful groups of all time.
