Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Has Been Dropping Hints That One Major Character Has Been Living A Lie The Whole Time

3 days ago 10

Karma marks have been an essential part of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex story from the beginning. Not only are these unique symbols that grant Kawaki and Boruto some of their most powerful abilities, but they are also a sign of what they have survived. The duo fought against some of the universe’s most powerful aliens and emerged victorious.

Yet, another vital character in the plot has also been granted this mark and has still not manifested any of the abilities his peers have: Code. The series has given readers several hints that could explain why Jigen’s pupil does not have access to the skills of an Otsutsuki, this being that his Karma was artificially made by Amado.

Code's Karma Could Be A Fake

Amado Tricked Him To Fester His Hatred For Kawaki

In episode #213 of the Boruto anime, Amado explained that Karma marks were a last resort to survive for the members of the imposing Otsutsuki clan. By giving a human this symbol, they can live on by possessing their bodies until they have complete control. Those who receive the mark are granted the abilities of the alien family, like absorbing Chakra, reflecting techniques, and increased physical abilities. Despite having been branded as a vessel for Isshiki and given a Karma, Code has never manifested any of these powers.

When he was first introduced, the series explained his lack of supernatural abilities as being the result of Code being a failed experiment. Despite being outstandingly powerful and having the ability to create Claw Marks, his skills cannot be compared to those of someone like Kawaki. What is more, Code’s Karma is the only one in the entire series that is not black, instead being completely white. All these odd traits point to his symbol not having been granted by an Otsutsuki. Rather, Code’s Karma was artificially created by Amado to push forward his enigmatic plans.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Has Not Fixed a Big Villain Issue From Part 1, And It’s Making It Worse

Code has always been the weakest part of Boruto, and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #15 is the worst showing for the character to date.

The scientist is known for being a manipulative and determined individual who is willing to do anything to achieve his goals. Amado was the one who gave both Kawaki and Code their respective Karma marks, a decision that caused Isshiki’s chosen successor to grow resentful. The cyborg believed that he should have been the one selected to become an Otsutsuki, seeing Kawaki as an obstacle to fulfilling his ambitions. There is a high likelihood that Amado foresaw this outcome as it would allow him to manipulate Naruto’s adoptive son and use him to revive his daughter.

Amado Might Not Have Foreseen Code Becoming Stronger

Jura Could Have Spoiled the Scientist’s Plans

Code promises to kill Boruto and his allies after being humiliated by Jura.

In chapter #15 of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, Code was humiliated by the Divine Trees, who mockingly told him that they would help him become an Otsutsuki if he killed Boruto and Kawaki. While demoralizing, this moment gave the villain a newfound determination to become stronger and achieve his goals, something that could have been foreshadowed earlier in the series. This entry makes it clear that Code is sure to return in the future, as a major obstacle for their heroes in their quest to save the world. This might be something that Amado could not have accounted for.

If Code’s Karma was indeed only created to cause a rivalry between him and Kawaki, there would be no reason for Kara’s researcher to want him to become more powerful. Amado’s only goal is to convince Kawaki to use his Karma to awaken his daughter. Code was nothing more than a tool to make him feel unsafe and join forces with him, the one who could grant him the strength needed to defeat his rival. The cyborg’s usefulness to Amado disappeared once he was granted asylum in Konoha.

Nevertheless, in the case that Code does acquire the power needed to surpass Kawaki, all the scientist has worked for would have been for naught. The Sentient God Trees were not likely a part of his original idea, as confirmed by Kashin Koji in chapter #13 when he stated that his Prescience ability let him know that their existence altered the timeline. Amado’s options are now quite limited, as he either continues to withhold Kawaki’s true power to have leverage or removes his limiters to make him strong enough to fight Code.

The story of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will continue to get more chaotic and complex as the series goes on. The appearance of Jura and his Divine Trees has most likely done irreparable damage to the original timeline of the series, a theme that is sure to be explored in future entries. Nevertheless, Amado’s plan is almost guaranteed to be at fault for many or all odd occurrences that have made an appearance in the manga.
