Kaitlyn Dever’s new love might be one for the books.
The Booksmart star sparked romance rumors when she stepped out with a mystery man at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles Dec. 5 for a dinner celebrating the Brunello Cucinelli fashion brand.
The 27-year-old wore a shimmering silver dress and gray suede flats to the event, which was also attended by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Quinta Brunson, Kevin Costner, Jon Hamm and Sophia Bush. She completed her glittery look with an oversized floor-length black leather coat.
As Kaitlyn made her exit, she held hands with a man wearing all-black, with a pendant necklace as his long hair flowed freely.
E! News has reached out to Kaitlyn’s rep for comment on the romance rumors but has not heard back.
It’s been a difficult year for the Emmy-nominated actress as she shared the devastating loss of her mom, Kathy, from breast cancer in February.
“Nothing I’ll ever say will amount to the gifts you have given me in my life,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “The boundless joy you brought, the deep, endless, unconditional love you gave me and our family. Your love was everywhere.”

In the tribute, the Dopesick alum commended her late mom for “fighting so hard,” adding that their time together will “never be enough.”
“I miss your smile, your sense of humor, your hugs, your kisses, getting to hold your hand, more than anything in the world,” she continued. “You made everything better. My sweetest, beautiful girl. My best friend. Oh how much I love you. What a gift it is to love you.”
But Kaitlyn is keeping her mother’s memory alive, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post to mark her mom’s birthday Dec. 4. Alongside a series of sweet throwback photos, she also posted a clip of herself lighting birthday candles on a plate of cupcakes and placing flowers at what appeared to be her mother’s grave.
Kaitlyn captioned the post writing, “Happy heavenly birthday mama.”
