Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Blue Box Episode #5!
Blue Box is more than a high school romance, as it explores complicated and, at times, frustrating dynamics between Taiki Inomata and his friends, teammates, and prospective partners at Eimei Academy. The latest episode showed his budding relationship with Chinatsu growing as they developed a bond of mutual trust while internalizing plenty of their feelings. But in the release of Blue Box episode #6, the Netflix anime will explore how Hina Chono reacts to the recent discovery of Taiki and Chinatsu Kano's living situation, and how it affects her bond with Taiki.
Blue Box has been running in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2021. It regularly ranks high on sales charts for the publication as it captivates its adoring public with engaging characters and charming artwork. But with Blue Box episode #6, one friendship will encounter new challenges that'll surely divide audiences on who to root for.

What Happened in Blue Box Episode #5?
Taiki and Chinatsu Progress Swimmingly at the Aquarium
As Taiki wins a tight match against Shoichiro Kishi in Blue Box episode #5, it becomes apparent that he'll get to go to the aquarium with Chinatsu per her agreement with Kyo Kasahara. As Taiki ruminates over what to wear, how to behave, and what to expect from their aquarium date, Chinatsu appears to lay his worries to rest as the two spend a charming and relaxing time together. Among the keepsakes of the date are a penguin charm Chinatsu puts on her bag and a commemorative penguin sticker Taiki suggests the two send each other via SMS if they ever need to talk.
It becomes clear that the two are building a relationship of mutual trust, so Chinatsu's apology to Taiki about her comments in the previous episode about having extra time to improve his badminton game says that they value their connection. While Chinatsu doesn't understand that her words bother Taiki because they remind him that she will leave school one year sooner than him, he appreciates how thoughtful she is. This gives Taiki plenty to talk about and, as Kyo points out afterward, is a reason for him to wonder if Chinatsu has mutual feelings for Taiki.
But soon, Chinatsu encounters Hina at the clinic, where Hina sees the aquarium charm, and the two discuss Taiki and his general selflessness. While Hina spends her time talking Taiki up to Chinatsu, Chinatsu reads it as Hina having potential feelings for the boy, which, as Blue Box suggests throughout episode #5, is not a distant possibility. This will soon be explored further as Hina sees Chinatsu leave straight for the Inomata residence, leaving her blindsided by the discovery that they're close enough to spend time under the same roof out of school, let alone living together.
Blue Box Episode #6 Explores Hina's Bond with Taiki
"Why Did Chinatsu Go to Taiki's House?"
As Hina learns more about Taiki's secret living arrangement with Chinatsu in Blue Box episode #6, the anime explores her relatively longer connection with him and whether there's competition for Chinatsu on the horizon. It will be a more Hina-focused episode as it adapts Blue Box chapter #16 onwards, as she cheers him on at the badminton court and in courting Chinatsu. As Hina's rhythmic gymnastics training hinges on her ability to remain focused and disciplined, the emotions will soon run high for the great Hina Chono in Blue Box episode #6.
Taiki Inomata, a junior high student at Eimei Academy, is a dedicated badminton player with a crush on Chinatsu Kano, a star basketball player. Their paths intertwine in unexpected ways when Chinatsu moves in with Taiki’s family. Balancing sports, school, and budding feelings, Taiki aims to prove himself worthy of her admiration while striving for Nationals.
