Bleach: Echoes In The Blue Hollow Officially Announced

Bleach has enjoyed a run not many shonen anime get to have. It's been around since 2004 in TV form, and now it's back with Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, which is wrapping up the age-old manga. Later this month we'll move on to the last segment of the sequel series.

Beyond the anime, the franchise has seen a live-action adaptation, video games, multiple movies, and much more. It's become a staple anime over the years, joining the coveted ranks of projects that continue on past their initial hype period.

In other words, fans have been waiting a long time for this, but the world of Bleach isn't done yet. Thanks to a new announcement, we know that Bleach: Echoes In The Blue Hollow is in the pipeline (via Siliconera).

From the new Granblue Fantasy reveal, we know that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is coming to the game. This is a limited-time collaboration that starts on July 22, ahead of the premiere of the final part of the Blood War arc on July 25. The event itself will run through August 3.

Here's the story setup so you know what you're getting into: "Suddenly, a crack appears in the sky, and a nearby island transforms into a white mass—a bizarre phenomenon. The group sent to investigate is attacked by a horde of monsters they've never seen before, putting them in dire straits. Just then, Ichigo Kurosaki, the substitute Soul Reaper, and other Soul Reapers emerge from the crack, wiping out the monsters with overwhelming power. Working together with them, who claim to have been transported from another world, the group sets out to resolve the anomaly."

Recruiting Ichigo Kurosaki is the main goal here, and you can do that by clearing Interlude #01. On July 27, an event story will be added, alongside Interlude #02, which you can clear to recruit another character. The entire time you'll be able to do event summons, with the weapons Zangetsu and Asauchi up for grabs, and Byakuya Kuchiki, Kenpachi Zaraki, and Mayuri Kurotsuchi.

Grim Reapers are in play in the game (and can come out during an event multi-battle), and the jobs Samurai and Swordsman. More bonuses and tickets will be distributed too, as is the case with most in-game events.

This is a pretty fully-featured event for Bleach, and one of the best homages you're going to get the week of the release of the last part of Thousand-Year Blood War.
