Cupid's arrow failed to strike Chace Crawford on the set of Gossip Girl.

While Blake Lively and Penn Badgley were among the stars embarking on an on-set romances at the time, Crawford managed to never find love with his co-stars.

'There's things that happen or connections that happen,' he said on the Armchair Expert podcast.  'I never dated anyone on the show.'

'There's a lot of guest stars and people in the orbit of the show that you'd meet through other friends even. And I remember that was a way to meet people,' he said.

But Crawford never found the set a particularly conducive place to find love.

'There's 60 people watching, the boom mic is there, they want you to be shirtless again,' he said. 'It's like a whole other thing.'

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley were among the stars enjoying an on-set romance, but Chace insisted he was never struck by Cupid's arrow

The Gossip Girl set resembled more of an extended version of college for Crawford, where co-stars were young and unattached.

'When you're young, it is a different thing 'cause it is like a college experience... it's all different,' he continued.

'Everyone's kind of single and dating or whatever... No one's married. The stakes are very low. It is a funnier, more college-like school experience for sure,' he said.

In real life, Crawford has been romancing Victoria's Secret model Kelsey Merritt, 29, for over a year.

Crawford played Nate Archibald in the 2000s TV drama and previously said the success of the show became both a career-defining moment and a creative obstacle.

'I felt like I was in the wilderness for years after Gossip Girl,' Crawford confessed on the Good Guys podcast last year.

'Because I felt, you know, as big of a show as it was, coming off of it as a young guy, it's like, 'Oh, that's not cool anymore.'

'And I'm in this box now. I'm in this jail of like the CW pretty boy, you know what I mean?' he adds, noting that people didn't think he had any 'range.'

A busy film set wasn't exactly the most romantic setting, Crawford insisted

Crawford found success after Gossip Girl, but he shared that it was far from easy.

'I think people think… actors make a ton more money and have way more agency than we actually do,' he said.

However, the truth, according to Crawford, was far more frustrating.

Hollywood refused to see him as anything more than a pretty boy and romantic lead.

'I was probably harder on myself than I needed to be,' he reflected.

Crawford was ready to dig his teeth into darker, grittier roles and that finally happened when he was cast in Amazon Prime's The Boys.

The Boys is a superhero satire where Chace plays an insecure and self-absorbed anti-hero named The Deep.

'I just remember that audition hitting my inbox, and reading the synopsis, I was like, that sounds wild,' he recalled.
