BlackRock’s IBIT captures 81% of $853M Bitcoin ETF inflow streak

1 hour ago 13

Over five trading days from August 3 to August 7, US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $853.5 million in net inflows. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, better known as IBIT, accounted for $693 million of that total. That’s 81 cents of every dollar flowing into Bitcoin ETFs landing in a single fund.

The streak reversed a modest $61.5 million in outflows from the prior week and pushed cumulative net inflows across all US spot Bitcoin ETFs to $52.18 billion since launch. Total net assets in the category climbed to $79.50 billion, representing roughly 6.10% of Bitcoin’s entire market capitalization.

The daily breakdown

Inflows weren’t evenly distributed across the five-day stretch. Day-by-day figures ran: $170.1 million, $211.5 million, $244.4 million, approximately $128.8 million, and roughly $98.85 million.

IBIT’s contribution on the final day alone was $86.71 million. The next largest contributor over the full five days was Fidelity’s FBTC at $40.95 million. Bitwise’s BITB and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB barely registered, adding $2.11 million and $1.94 million respectively. Meanwhile, a handful of smaller funds including BTCO, HODL, and DEFI actually posted minor outflows during the same period.

Bitcoin below $65K while money pours in

Bitcoin traded below $65,000 throughout the entire five-day inflow period. Nearly $854 million in fresh capital entered the market through ETFs, and the price didn’t budge above that threshold.

The Ethereum side of the equation added its own momentum. US spot Ethereum ETFs attracted $244.9 million in inflows during the same week, bringing combined Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF inflows close to $1.10 billion.
