Bitwise is preparing to launch a new tokenized stocks product. The crypto asset manager plans to build the offering on top of Coinbase’s newly launched tokenized stocks on Base.

Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley shared the news on X on August 24. He said the company would reveal more details about the product the day after Coinbase’s launch.

Tomorrow, Bitwise will introduce a first-of-a-kind new product type.

The post included a graphic showing three names together. It read “Tokenized Stocks + Bitwise + Glider,” pointing to a partnership between the three platforms.

Horsley had already hinted at the launch one day earlier. He said Bitwise would introduce a new type of product built for onchain investors.

Bitwise has not shared full details yet. But the company confirmed that tokenized stocks on Base will sit at the center of the new offering.

Coinbase Brings Stocks Onto Base

The announcement follows Coinbase’s move to bring tokenized U.S. stocks onto Base. Base is Coinbase’s layer-2 network built on Ethereum.

The first stocks available include Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet. Each token is backed one to one by a real share held in regulated custody.

These tokenized stocks are open to eligible users outside the United States. Buyers can hold the tokens in their own wallets instead of going through a broker.

The tokens can trade at any time of day, unlike normal stock markets. They can also be used across apps built on Base’s decentralized finance network.

This setup gives Bitwise a foundation to build products around tokenized shares. The company appears to be moving past simple stock exposure through ETFs.

Bitwise Reports Strong Inflows

Bitwise also reported strong results for the first half of 2026. Horsley said the company drew in more than $1.8 billion in new investments during that time.

The inflows came even though crypto markets faced a tough stretch this year. Bitwise said more than $100 million went into each of its four main product areas.

Those areas include ETFs and ETPs, private strategies, staking, and vaults. The spread shows investor interest across several parts of the business rather than one fund.

Bitwise has already tested other tokenized products this year. In June, the firm launched the Bitwise Crypto Carry Fund for qualified investors.

That fund gives investors exposure to a crypto cash and carry strategy through blockchain technology. Bitwise has also looked into tokenizing shares of its own ETFs.

One example is its Solana Staking ETF. Bitwise explored this plan together with Superstate.

The tokenized stocks market is drawing interest from several crypto platforms and asset managers. Coinbase’s launch of stocks on Base adds another entry to that space.

Bitwise’s new product is expected to launch soon after Coinbase’s rollout. The company has said more information will follow directly from its own channels.
