EXCLUSIVE: Principal photography has wrapped in Los Angeles on the horror-comedy Blood Rush, with Billy Zane, Danielle Bisutti, and Henry Ian Cusick in the leading roles.
Set in 1881 during the American Western Frontier gold rush, the story follows Lucifer’s children, Lilith and Aamon, the original vampires who fly to the Americas to suck the living hope out of the common folk’s blood that’s been revived by the promise of the American Dream, the synopsis reads.
The synopsis continues: But plans to restore their Vampiric reign are thwarted when an old Familiar shows up, threatening to reveal their true nature if only his complicated feelings for The Vamps don’t bloody the waters.
The film stars Zane in the role of Aamon opposite Cusick, who is Van Helsing, and Bisutti as Lilith. Bisutti has also directed the film alongside her co-director, Stefan Colson.
Bisutti conceived the idea and developed the story with Colson before writing the screenplay. Bisutti and Colson produced the film with their respective companies, Perfect Timing Productions and BoatShoes Entertainment, alongside their partner, Mike Hatton, with Ton of Hats.
The cast also includes William McNamara (Copycat), Christina Moore (90210), Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies), Ken Davitian (Borat), and Robert Craighead (Shirley/Miss Governor).
