Big Brother star Reggie Bird makes heartbreaking admission: 'Hopefully we find something soon'

Reality star Reggie Bird has revealed she is struggling to find a permanent place to live.

The two-time Big Brother winner, 50, took to Instagram on Thursday to share her workout routine with her 56,000 followers, while revealing her difficulty finding permanent accommodation.

The video showed the former fish and chip shop owner working up a sweat on an elliptical machine before sitting down to give her pins a workout on the leg press.

After her workout, Reggie shared  that she was at the gym to relieve stress as she was in the process of finding permanent accommodation for herself and her children Mia, 14, and Lucas, 13, who has cystic fibrosis.

'Just need to get rid of some stress,' she said in the video.

'Still trying to find somewhere to live for me and the kids. Hopefully we find something soon.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Reggie Bird for comment.

Despite the admission, Reggie appeared in good spirits, smiling as she left the gym.

She did, however potentially ruin all her good work by stopping at a nearby KFC after her workout session. 

'I've called in here after being at the gym, naughty ,' she said as she waiting inside the store for her order.'

Reggie's post, which she captioned 'Today I was good then bad,' was met with a flurry of comments with many wishing Reggie well on her house hunting.

'Wishing you so much luck to find your home Reggie,' one follower wrote.

Another jumped in with a similar: 'Good luck with finding a house.'  

She also shared a similar video on Friday, that showed her completing the same workout before again being tempted by the Colonel.

'Should I go back [to KFC]?,' she asked.  'No, been good today.'

Reggie made history when she became the first reality star to win Big Brother twice, the first time in 2003 and again in 2022.

Despite taking home $250,000 in prize money during the 2003 and 2022 seasons of Big Brother, the TV personality has struggled financially over the years.

Bird is legally blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment.

She also has Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.

She previously hit back at her critics who doubted her bad run of health in an interview with TV Week.

'A lot of people are saying, "Oh, she's faking it." Who would want to fake being blind?' she told the publication.

The former fish and chip shop manager, who says her vision is now like looking through straws, added: 'They don't know me, or the challenges I deal with every day.

'I think people who leave comments like that have issues.'

Upon winning the 2022 celebrity edition of the show, Reggie said the prize money would go towards paying rent to ensure she and her children had stable accommodation.

Reggie's winnings have also helped cover her medical expenses, as she is legally blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment.

She also has Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.
