What should you look for in a USB-C monitor?
In terms of resolution, we recommend at least full HD (1,920x1,080 pixels) for a 24-inch display, quad HD (2,560x1,440 pixels) for a 27-inch display and Ultra HD (aka 4K; 3,840x2,160 pixels) for anything 32 inches or larger.
We'd also suggest that you look out for a monitor's maximum brightness rating, which typically ranges from 250 to 500 nits. Lower-end monitors are usually rated at 250 or 300 nits, which will likely suffice for a dark den or basement. For a sun-drenched office, though, you'll want something that's rated for 350 nits or higher. For more on that, check out our monitor buying guide before choosing your new monitor.
Best USB-C monitor deals
This gorgeous Samsung ViewFinity S6 monitor is down to its lowest price yet at Amazon, thanks to a 30% discount. That's a savings of over $200 and gets you the 34-inch USB-C monitor with one billion colors via HDR 10, 1,000R curvature and a 100Hz refresh rate. Great for gaming or everyday work.
This 30-inch ultrawide monitor gives you 2K resolution and a 100Hz refresh rate. Right now you can get it at a decent price. It's not the biggest savings we've seen, but it's still a great deal.
This monitor from Dell has an integrated hub with two USB-C and five Type-A ports to accommodate all of your accessories. It has high contrast and a 3,840x2,160-pixel resolution, giving you picture quality that might be better than that old TV you keep meaning to upgrade.
With a $700 list price, this 32-inch Samsung monitor is one of the most expensive models you'll find on this list, but it also has a ton to offer. The display has a 32-inch 4K screen with HDR10+ support and AI upscaling, though the 60Hz refresh rate leaves a little to be desired. The main appeal is the fact that this is a smart monitor, so it connects to the internet and supports basic entertainment and productivity apps without needing to be hooked up to another device. Plus, it comes with its own remote with built-in solar charging.
This 27-inch 4K Dell model with an LED screen just dropped in price by $40 at Best Buy. It has integrated speakers, a platinum silver finish and a 60Hz refresh rate that makes it serviceable for video games.
LG is one of the best brands in the business, and this 29-inch UltraWide monitor is a stunning bit of kit with HDR 10 compatibility and a full-HD display. It has a 21:9 screen ratio (2,560x1,080 pixels), so everything you experience will be pushed to the max. Even with only a slight discount, it's still a decent value, but this price is still pretty steep compared to deals we've seen in the past. If you're not in a hurry, it may be worth waiting for the price to drop a little lower.
