Stash tabs are almost a necessary purchase in Path of Exile 2 as your storage quickly fills up with currency, gems, rares, and uniques.

Stash tabs are an optional extra you can pay for in Path of Exile 2, allowing you to expand your stash in specific ways; there’s tabs for certain items, adding a ton of space, and selling items on the market.

Below, we’ve listed out some of the best stash tabs to buy and why you should buy them to help you with your purchase.

What are the best Stash Tabs to buy?

Stash tabs are available for purchase in two different locations — in-game and the Path of Exile website. However, we do recommend that you purchase your stash tabs from the in-game microtransaction shop because the website shop does have stash tabs that are usable in Path of Exile, but not Path of Exile 2 — as it’s possible to buy something you cannot use in the sequel.

As of writing this article (Dec. 13), there are 20 stash tabs available for purchase (including guild tabs). Each has their own use, but here are the best stash tabs to buy for newer players and why:

  • Currency (75) — If you had to purchase just one tab, it would be this one. The currency stash tab allows you to hold up to 5,000 of each currency, instead of the usual stacks of 20. This will save you a ton of space in your stash in the long run, and will provide you with some welcome organization. One currency tab is really all you’ll ever need, so don’t feel the need to purchase more than one.
  • Premium (40) — The premium stash tab is just like your regular stash tab except they allow you to trade on Path of Exile’s official trading board. You may not want to trade now, but trading will help you reach higher highs at a quicker pace. You can purchase the unique or rare that is perfect for your build rather than grinding and hoping that it magically drops to you. Save yourself some time and sanity, and look to the trading boards (with good trading habits).
  • Premium Quad (150) — For those who are looking to become trading tycoons, premium quad stash tabs will provide you with four times the usual space of a regular stash tab. If you’re pricing items individually, you’ll be able to sell a lot of items out of just one tab. If you’re taking over the market, you could technically buy multiple premium quad stash tabs and set each tab to a price point for even more storage space. Additionally, if you’re going to buy four premium stash tabs anyway, you should save yourself 10 points as a premium quad stash tabs normally cost 150 points while premium stash tabs cost 40 points. Even if you’re not trading, these tabs offer a ton of space for your items, which is always valuable.
  • Gem (40) — The gem stash tab was a little more useful in Path of Exile as gems worked a little differently, but gems are a little more compact now that you can select which skill, spirit, or support gem you want. The tab is still very useful as you’ll rack up a lot of gems overtime and they’ll take up a lot of stash space. Having a dedicated tab also allows you to have a little organization and makes it easier to find your gems.

There will be more stash tabs coming to Path of Exile 2 that will be extremely useful, such as a map/waystone stash tab for those who make it to end game content.

There is a currently a weekend stash tab sale that will end at 7 p.m. EST on Monday, Dec. 16. Every stash tab is on sale, so use your early access points and get yourself some necessary stash tabs.

Here are some of the best stash tabs to buy during the weekend stash tab sale:

  • Currency (75 60) — The currency tab is 20% off and will save you a ton of space in your stash. Although its sale is not as much as the other tabs, the value of the tab will more than make up for it.
  • Premium Stash Tab Bundle (200 165) — The premium stash tab bundle is only 18% off, but you’ll get six premium stash tabs for 165 points while it would normally cost 240 points if you bought them individually. The weekend sale is just adding more value on top of an already good deal.
  • Upgrade to Premium Stash Tab (15 10) — Upgrade a regular stash tab to a premium one at a 33.3% discount. For those who may not need a lot of tabs or are trying to get rid of their regular tabs, look towards the upgrade to save some points.
  • Premium and Premium Quad — These stash tabs will always be valuable because of their use in trading, so why not purchase them at their discounted price.
