October Prime Day is in its final stretch, making it the perfect time to stock up on smart home devices while saving a lot of money. Some of these gadgets can get pricey, but with these great deals right now on some of the top video doorbell cameras and our favorite smart lights, there's no reason to hold back.

We’ve been scouring the internet over the past few days to find amazing Prime Day sales to start saving you money on the best smart home devices. We’ll continue to update this list with new deals, so be sure to check back regularly.

Also, to steal some of Amazon’s thunder, Walmart is having a Holiday Deals event, so be sure to check that out, too.

Govee’s line of smart floor lamps is one of my personal favorite lighting fixtures. The slender design allows the lamp to be tucked away into a corner of the room and paint the walls in light. Govee’s app controls the brightness, colors and schedules. There are over 30 preset scenes with color and motion to create immersive effects. This light works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

GE’s Cync devices are some of the easiest smart devices to set up. Once connected, the plugs maintain that connection for reliable use. At only $8, these smart plugs are a steal and can make nearly any plug-in device smart. Plug your favorite conventional lamp into the Cync Smart Plug, and you can automate when the lamp turns on and off, control it with your voice and more.

Because air quality is so important to our health, you’ll want to make sure the air you breathe at home is as clean as possible. The Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor makes keeping track of the air quality inside your home easy by checking for particulate matter (PM 2.5), volatile organic compounds, carbon monoxide, humidity and temperature. The device will alert you when air quality degrades, but it can pair with Alexa to give you updates through your smart speakers, on your phone, and even turn on your air purifier or HVAC.

The Echo Show 8 is the perfect-sized smart display. Its 8-inch screen is large enough to read text easily and still big enough to enjoy videos, but it is also small enough not to take up too much table space. It has great audio chops for playing your favorite music or podcasts while being a central device to manage your smart home gadgets.

Officially, this model is the previous generation now that the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) out, but this is still a very good option to consider, especially when it’s nearly $80 off. It’s packed with sensors and learning software to help save energy and keep you comfortable at home without lifting a finger.

Smart lights are one simple way to build a smart home, and the Amazon Basics Smart Bulbs are a perfect choice at only $27 for a 4-pack. These dimmable, soft white lights are 7.5W, equivalent to 60W incandescent bulbs, and don’t need additional hardware to setup. Simply connect them to your Wi-Fi and you’re ready to start controlling your lights remotely, scheduling them and controlling them with Alexa.

Philips Hue is one of the most recognizable names in smart lighting, and it’s well earned. This indoor smart light strip has a soft diffuser over the LEDs to give an even glow for excellent lighting options. Philips Hue includes Bluetooth in this light strip, so you can set it up with or without the Hue Bridge hub.

This price for a high-quality video doorbell doesn’t seem possible, but for Prime Day, it’s exactly what you’re getting. This Blink Video Doorbell lands on our best video doorbell camera list as the best budget option, thanks to its ease of use, compact design and options for local or cloud storage.

I’ve had this camera on my barn for a couple of years now, and the night vision combined with the bright flood lights has been great for scaring off raccoons and opossums from my property. The HD video resolution keeps everything clear, and because it is a plug-in model, I never have to worry about changing batteries or charging it back up.

Since its launch, the Roomba J7 Plus has been on our list of the best robot vacuum cleaners, thanks to its excellent cleaning power and ability to avoid pet messes. It has fantastic navigation abilities, so it can get your home cleaner faster. While it lacks a built-in mop, it automatically empties the dust bin and features up to 60 days of storage in the base.

The compact Echo Dot is a fantastic smart speaker in its own right, with Alexa onboard to handle your requests and play your music. Controlling your smart home with only your voice seems magical with the Echo Dot, but it becomes even more fun when you add the spooky Jack Skellington shell from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

What is Amazon's October Prime Day sale?

Amazon's October Prime Day event is officially called Prime Big Deal Days, but the shopping extravaganza essentially functions as a second Amazon Prime Day event ahead of the holiday season. It's a two-day Amazon sale that offers exclusive savings to Amazon Prime subscribers with limited-time offers, flash deals and rock-bottom prices. It's a rare chance to score Black Friday-level pricing outside of November, so it's usually well worth shopping.

When is Prime Day?

Amazon's October Prime Big Deal Days are Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 this year. Generally speaking, the deals will end at midnight PT tonight. Some deals may linger beyond the set times of the sale event, but we don't know which.

How does Prime Big Deal Days compare to July Prime Day?

There are lots of similarities between the two sales. Many of the same deals return during the October sale, especially on Amazon's own devices, such as Blink and Ring home security devices, Fire TVs and tablets, Echo devices and more.

The main difference is related to the timing of the sale. Since July Prime Day is in the summer, there's more focus on back-to-school and outdoor deals. During October Prime Day, we see more deals geared toward the upcoming holiday season, such as kitchenware for a Thanksgiving meal or toys and games for kids for Christmas.
