The Golden Tide event in Fisch has brought some interesting content for players to enjoy, and you can catch the Eternal Frostwhale to add to your Bestiary.
But planning to catch this creature and actually managing to land it will be two different things. Based on player accounts on the official Discord server, the Eternal Frostwhale is extremely elusive and rarely spawns at any given location. You’ll also require great in-game equipment to land it as well, making it nearly impossible for beginners.
Let’s take a look at how you can reel in this behemoth and add it to your existing Bestiary collection.
Eternal Frostwhale location in Fisch
The Eternal Frostwhale, like every other fish on the Golden Tide bestiary, spawns only in the Golden Tide Pool. This pool doesn’t have a fixed spot and spawns randomly. That said, you’ll get a notification if it has spawned on your server. You’ll be able to spot it quite easily, thanks to the bright orange glow, which acts as a pointer.
You can also spawn this pool by using Sundial Totems. This isn’t going to be exactly cheap, but it will allow you to bypass the reliance on luck. Do remember that the Golden Tide Pool can spawn only till the Tides of Gold event is live.
Best bait and setup to catch the Eternal Frostwhale in Fisch
The Eternal Frostwhale is certainly big and heavy, with an average weight of around 1,250 KG. Thankfully, you don’t exactly need the top-tier rods, but first, you’ll have to get your enchantments and bait in order. This creature has a major debuff when you try to reel it in: a -80% progress debuff.
Naturally, you’ll want to use an enchantment that buffs your Resilience and/or Control. You can also achieve this by picking the correct bait. For the Frostwhale, it’s best to go with the Shark Head bait. If you don’t have it in your inventory, you’ll have to purchase/open the Quality Bait crates. This creature can spawn at any time of the day and during any season, but the Aurora event reportedly boosts your luck.
Let’s now check out some of the rods you can use to catch it.
Best Fisch rods to catch Eternal Frostwhale
Here are a few rods you can consider, and we have included choices for both mid and end-tier players.
- Arctic Rod – A pretty cheap rod (C$25,000) with good Lure Speed (45%), Luck (65%), and decent Control and Resilience.
- Ice Warpers Rods – More expensive than the Arctic Rod, but offers better Lure Speed (50%) and Control (20%).
- Rod of Eternal King – One of the best rods in the game, and offers a mammoth 160% Luck.
- Rod of the Forgotten Fang – Similar to Rod of the Eternal King when it comes to great Luck stat (145%) and Lure Speed (78%).
The Rod of the Depths and Rod of the Exalted One are also worthy pieces of equipment that you can consider. Ultimately, the biggest luck element comes down to the Frostwhale spawning in the pool.
