Beloved Australian TV personality Ian Fairweather has died in hospital aged 86 after suffering a fall.
The Channel Nine star passed away at Gosford Hospital in NSW, according to a family statement shared on Facebook on Thursday.
'Ian Fairweather, Channel 9 TV presenter during the 1960 – 1980s died today at Gosford Hospital aged 86,' wrote Bev Fairweather.
'He was an incredible person who led an incredible life.'
Fans flocked to the comments of the post to share their condolences.
'He was a lovely, kind, funny, clever person. He was my Executive Producer when he was Head of Children's [Television] at Network 10 and we shared many laughs during the making of The Miraculous Mellops. What a sad loss, condolences to his family,' one person wrote.

Fairweather was best known for his TV appearances in the '60s, '70s, and '80s, starring in the Adelaide children's show Here's Humphrey.
He was also known for his regular work on the science program The Curiosity Show, which broadcast on Nine in the '70s and '80s.
Penni Hamilton-Smith, a close friend and colleague of Fairweather, shared a tribute to the former TV star.
'We've lost the most gorgeous, wonderful, talented, brilliant man,' she told ABC Adelaide.

Hamilton-Smith, who worked with Fairweather for two decades, met the late TV star when she was a young actress in 1970, and said she would cherish the memories of him.
Fairweather spent much of his life living in Adelaide, but his final days were in the NSW Central Coast region.
