Baywatch icon, 60, makes rare sighting nearly 30 years after wearing iconic red swimsuit... can you guess who?

A member of the Baywatch family was spotted making a rare outing in Los Angeles on Thursday.

For 22 episodes, she played a lifeguard captain protecting Malibu beachgoers opposite Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff.  

While it's been decades since she last wore the legendary red swimsuit, she has supported her Baywatch roots over the years with appearances at events and reunions. 

But that isn't the only iconic title she's lent her talents to, with roles in Saved By The Bell and Boy Meets World under her belt.

Now 60, she shares two sons with her husband.

Valen was spotted going on a leisurely trek in the City of Angels, clad in a comfortable and casual look perfect for the laid-back occasion. 

She made her way down the street in black sweatpants, a long-sleeve white shirt, and trainers with her phone conveniently in hand. 

Valen remains a beloved part of Baywatch’s legacy, a show that continues to live on in reruns and reboots.

She played Captain Samantha Thomas from 1996 to 1997.  

Baywatch ran from 1989 to 1999 and became one of the most watched TV shows in the world, with a weekly audience of 1.1 billion in 148 countries.

The show was translated into 44 different languages.

A reboot starring Brooks Nader, Stephen Amell, and Shay Mitchell is now in the works. 

Over Valen's career, she has guest starred on 23 series including Friends, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Boy Meets World, Full House, Charles in Charge and Miami Vice.

Valen has been happily married to actor and producer, Nels Van Patten, since 1994.

The couple share sons, named Jake and Alex. 

In January 2025, amid the devastating fires in Los Angeles, which burned 37,000 acres and more than 16,000 structures, Valen shared an update on how she was holding up.

'It was a tense night. Running errands yesterday I saw a tremendous amount of smoke coming from Mulholland Drive. We’re in the flats, and out of any zone that typically experiences fire so I was in disbelief last night when I saw this near my home,' she captioned a photo of the fire from a distance.

She continued: 'Astonishing the Palisades fire is cresting Mulholland and threatening the San Fernando Valley. We are just outside the evacuation zone and hoping the winds stay calm. Praying for all you who are in harm's way. Every day we hear of friends who have lost their homes.'

'Thank you to the firefighters and all those who have reached out,' she concluded.

At the time, her fans sent their prayers and commented that they were 'sending love' amid the 'unimaginable' tragedy.
