Batman: The Berserker Rage Mode Officially Drops May 2027

2 weeks ago 20

In recent years, Batman adaptations have taken on a noticeably darker style, moving well beyond traditional superhero storytelling to explore Gotham City's criminal underbelly and corruption in more realistic ways. Matt Reeves’ The Batman, for example, introduced a younger, even more brooding Bruce Wayne, leaning heavily into noir influences and detective elements rather than large-scale comic book spectacle.

That tone continued with projects like HBO's The Penguin, which delved deeper into Gotham’s criminal underworld and focused on mob power struggles in the aftermath of the film. Animation has also embraced this more sinister direction, with Batman: Caped Crusader reviving the gothic atmosphere and mature storytelling style associated with classic Batman animation, while simultaneously modernizing its themes for contemporary audiences.

But perhaps one of the darkest and most hardcore Batman iterations we're likely to see to date is officially set to launch in May 2027, taking The Dark Knight into the world of the beloved Berserk anime universe with the exciting upcoming release of Batman: The Berserker Rage Mode (via YouTube).

Earlier this year, Prime 1 Studio and DC officially unveiled an incredible and stunning collectible Batman: The Berserker Rage Mode statue as part of the Ultimate Premium Masterline lineup. It's a quarter-scale statue that comes in three different unique editions: standard, deluxe, and deluxe bonus. You can pre-order the statue directly through Prime 1's website or via online retailers such as Sideshow.

The statue is a highly detailed depiction of The Dark Knight inspired by the Berserk anime/manga universe, featuring Batman weilding a massive axe, “Judgment of Faith,” an originally designed fusion of four different weapons. It stands 32.2 inches (82 cm) tall and has "red LED illumination in the eyes," sinister looking armor, and shows Bane lying at his feet impaled by a sword.

The statue is listed for between $2,199.00 and $2,450 USD for the Deluxe Bonus Edition, depending on the retailer, with the standard edition listed around $1700, making these high-end collectibles and extremely rare, with just 350 Deluxe versions sold in total.

The deluxe bonus edition comes with the following accessories and interchangeable parts:

  • Two (2) Swappable Heads (Final Form; First Form)
  • Five (5) Swappable Right Arms (Judgment of Faith, Deathbringer Sword, Spear of Justice, Phantom Axe, Demon Slayer)
  • Two (2) Swappable Left Arms (Bare Hand, Wrist Blade)
  • One (1) Head Stand
  • LED Illumination (Batman’s Eyes)
  • One (1) Swappable Head (Second Form) [BONUS PART]
  • One (1) Head Stand [BONUS PART]

If you're looking for a unique centerpiece for your Batman collection, it doesn't get more brutal than the Berserker Rage Mode statue from Prime 1, and it's sure to be a major conversation starter. Orders are expected to ship between May and August 2027, and the deluxe version is already nearly sold out, so if you're interested in claiming yours, it's probably better to do it sooner rather than later.
