Bad Bunny is gearing up for his Super Bowl LX Halftime Show performance and teased what that will look like.
The Puerto Rican singer, who only sings in Spanish, joked that people had four months to learn Spanish to enjoy the halftime show
“I don’t want to give any spoilers,” he said about his performance at the big game during the Apple Music press conference. “It’s gonna be fun, and it’s gonna be a party. It’s gonna be easy, and people only have to worry about dance.”
He continued, “I know that I told him that they had four months to learn Spanish, but they don’t even have to learn Spanish. They just have to learn how to dance. But I think there’s a better dance … the one that comes from the heart — the heartbeat dance. That’s the only thing that they need to worry about. And have fun, enjoy.”
Bad Bunny also said he didn’t plan to perform at the Super Bowl and was focused only on his residency in Puerto Rico, saying, “I was just looking to connect with my roots, people more than ever, connect with myself, with my history, with my culture, and I did in a very honest way.”
He noted that the “world really wanted me” to showcase his talents, and that’s when he realized he should go and “show some love to the world, to Latin America, and the opportunity to bring that feeling that I put on that album to one of the biggest stages in the world.”
The artist said that with Debí Tirar Más Fotos was about connecting with his roots, and the success of the album only “confirmed” that people should “always be proud about who you are and feel comfortable being yourself,” adding, “Feel proud of your history, where you’re from, but don’t let that limit yourself. I know where I come from, but I also know where I can go.”
Bad Bunny was also asked whether he would have any guest stars during his performance, but didn’t specify whether anyone would join him on stage.
“That’s something I’m not gonna tell you,” he said, leaving open the idea that he will have special performers with him.
Instead, the star talked about his personal guests like his family, friends, and “all the Latino community around the world that support me and the whole country,” adding, “There’s a lot of people that love me around the world.”
