The Avengers franchise spans six decades, evolving from a 1960s Marvel comic book team into one of the most successful media properties in the entertainment industry. In 2012, The Avengers became a global brand with the release of the MCU film The Avengers, which led to multiple movies, and its most recent release in 2019, Avengers: Endgame, became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, with nearly $2.8 billion grossed globally.
The first official trailer for the upcoming MCU movie, Avengers: Doomsday, has been released and has certainly drawn divisive reactions. The trailer has been highly anticipated since the announcement of the film and the knowledge that it was released during CinemaCon, but kept under lock and key from the public. Now, fans have had the chance to see their favorite heroes unite in a major way.
Some fans had an unsure reaction by stating, "The Doomsday trailer didn’t move me like the one from Infinity War and Endgame hype wise but the movie looks extremely good." "That trailer was okish ngl. Expected a lot more. Also not sure about the choice of those xmen cast; if it serves the story then good or else they picked random characters available," stated another undecided viewer.
Others compared the trailer to Christopher Nolan's epic The Odyssey and how it felt lackluster: "you dont really appreciate how practical nolan went with the odyssey and how real it looks until you see something like the trailer for avengers doomsday." Some fans actually stated that AI could have been used and said, "some of those action shots in that doomsday trailer straight up look ai generated bruh and to think i was praising the visual step up in the teasers."
