Avatar's Mad King Bumi Officially Returns In New Release

Avatar: The Last Airbender has seen a refreshing resurgence in recent years after a long hiatus without much in the way of new content. While the live-action series is somewhat divisive among longtime fans, the recent release of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender and the release date announcement for Avatar: Seven Havens have both sparked a fresh wave of excitement.

Avatar is making a major comeback on the gaming front as well, and despite the unfortunate cancellation of the highly anticipated RPG from Paramount Skydance, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game just launched to fan and critical acclaim and is well worth checking out if you're a fan of arcade-style fighting games.

Regardless of where you get your Avatar fix, there's no question the franchise has some of the most memorable cast of original characters, from the core Gaang itself to side characters such as Uncle Iroh and Suki. And one of Avatar: The Last Airbender's most beloved and quirky characters, Mad King Bumi, is officially making a return in a brand-new update alongside several other fan-favorites (via Avatar RC).

In a recent update for Avatar Legends: Realms Collide, Mad King Bumi officially returns as a new Legendary Hero. Inspired by Bumi's unforgettable introduction as the eccentric ruler of Omashu, the update gives players another powerful Earthbender to recruit while expanding the game's ever-growing roster of heroes from across the Avatar universe.

Mad King Bumi's skillset includes the Minimal Movement Rage Skill, the Summon Flopsie and Trial of Omashu Passives, the Eccentric Strategist Leader Skill, as well as the Heavy Crown Awakening Skill. All of these unique skills are based on the character's original appearance in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Also included in the update is Sapphire Fire Katara, another new Legendary Hero that offers players additional team-building options. Beyond the new characters, the update also introduces fresh in-game events, matchmaking improvements for Vault of Murong and Murong's Grand Melee, enhancements to the Skyroad Challenge, user interface and quality-of-life upgrades, and a variety of bug fixes aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience.

For those unfamiliar with Realms Collide, the free-to-play mobile title blends 4X strategy with RPG gameplay mechanics, allowing players to build and expand their own settlement, recruit iconic heroes and villains from ATLA and The Legend of Korra, research new technologies, train armies, forge alliances with other players, etc.

Avatar Legends: Realms Collide is a free-to-play game available on iOS, Android, and Google Play Games for PC, and while it uses the standard live-service monetization model with optional in-app purchases for premium currency, bundles, and progression items, the base game can be downloaded and played at no cost and is highly rated among mobile games across all platforms.
