Despite only being announced a bit over a month ago, the critically acclaimed anime Attack on Titan is officially returning this year with the highly anticipated release of the Attack on Titan 3 game. Aside from offering the final game in the beloved trilogy, Attack on Titan 3 will fully adapt the entire story of the series from the very start, while offering original character stories and brand-new perspectives from the franchise's most iconic eras when it releases this Winter.
While we haven't had too much to go off of for when or what we could expect from Attack on Titan 3 up until now, the developers recently hosted an official gameplay broadcast through the KOIE TECMO AMERICA YouTube channel that showed not only more of what we can expect from the upcoming gaming adaptation, but also exactly when we can get our hands on it.
During the broadcast, it was revealed that not only will Attack on Titan 3 officially release on December 10 of this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, PC, and even Switch 2 players, but that pre-purchasing the digital deluxe edition of the game will get you access to the game 72 hours in advance on December 7.
The pre-orders for Attack On Titan 3 also went live shortly after the broadcast ended as well, allowing you to net some exclusive rewards regardless of which edition you decide to purchase in the form of the Wings of Freedom hoodie and Wings of Freedom earrings to equip on your fully customizable avatar. Unfortunately, Switch 2 players will still have to wait a bit as the pre-orders for Nintendo's new flagship have been postponed for the time being despite the simultaneous launch date.
Players who own Attack on Titan 2 or Attack on Titan 2: The Final Battle will also be given exclusive in-game rewards for having save data located on the same system, although we don't know exactly what these rewards will be just yet as the developers of Attack on Titan 3 are planning to reveal them closer to release.

For fans looking for a collector's item but don't want to pay the $20 for the deluxe version, Attack on Titan 3 will also be available in the form of a Steelbook launch edition, which comes with the base game, a custom-designed steelbook case, a reversible art print, and the Wings of Freedom choker and glove cosmetic items as in-game DLC.
While there was already plenty of reasons to be excited for the new Attack on Titan 3 game after hearing that MAPPA themselves would be involved to make an animated cutscene for the project, the mix of social sim elements, variety of gear upgrades, and in-depth comat mechanics make Attack on Titan 3 well worth keeping on your radar for its December 7-10 release if you're even remotlely a fan of the series.
